Bill & Ted

Just after some honest opinions. I’ve got a son called William and really like the name Edward. What do people think? I’ve read other posts that the 2 names can be shortened to make Bill & Ted. It just happens that there’s a new Bill & Ted being released this August. Do you think I’m being cruel calling my sons this and creating a platform for easy target bullying ie: saying catchphrases as walking past and almost losing their own Identity. I know kids will be kids and find other things to bully if not a name) your thoughts would be great.

I like it, can't see a problem with it

dementedpixie · 02/05/2020 22:24

Party on dude!

dementedpixie · 02/05/2020 22:25

Although I wouldn't shorten Edward to Ted

NiteFlights · 02/05/2020 22:27

Well, as we know, Ted’s name wasn’t Edward, it was Theodore. Do you call your first son Bill?

Windyatthebeach · 02/05/2020 22:27

Will and Ted for nn instead?

Muddlingalongalone · 02/05/2020 22:28

Totally excellent dude....sorry
Do you currently shorten William to Bill? If not, I doubt anyone would put 2&2 together.
When are you due??

dementedpixie · 02/05/2020 22:30

Bill S Preston
Ted Theodore Logan

69 dude!!

babynamelover · 02/05/2020 22:34

I don't know anything about the movie... Do you call William Bill already? You could use Eddie or Ned for Edward instead.

strawberryspices · 03/05/2020 00:00

I guess their life could be an excellent adventure..

dementedpixie · 03/05/2020 00:05

Or it could be a bogus journey

SlimBig · 03/05/2020 00:30

Their generation won’t have a clue. You’d hope adults have a bit more tact. That said, it wouldn’t bother me if people did make the odd joke, but I am a big fan.

ZacharyQuack · 03/05/2020 00:32

Bill S Preston, Esquire

ClementineTangerine · 03/05/2020 00:32

I've just had to google bill and ted as I had no idea what it was (I'm late 20s) so I'd say it's fine.

Ted's a lovely nn
