My husband and I can’t agree on many names at all for our son but these 4 are the ones we both like so far! Opinions please or other suggestions?

Rory!

I love all four though.

Wilfred

Rory! Great name

Moo31 · 29/04/2020 23:23

Our boy names were Finn and Max with Finn being our standout favourite (and the one we went with!) Decided against Finley/Finlay as we knew it would just end up getting shortened. Max is still in the running if we ever have no2.

frenchfancy81 · 29/04/2020 23:23

Our son is Max so I'd say Max...but Rory is cool, actually, and not very common. Don't like the other two personally!

AdaColeman · 29/04/2020 23:25

Rory, with Sebastian a close second. Not keen on the other choices.

Wheresthebiffer2 · 29/04/2020 23:38

All nice names.
But there are various spellings for Finlay, Findlay, Finley, Finnlay which might be annoying

Whatsyourflava · 30/04/2020 09:59

Really nice names

Sebastian, Finley or Max are my favourites. Sebastian and Finley un particular I like the nickname options. Max is cool too- or how about Felix or Kit

Rory is fine but a bit meh.

peperethecat · 30/04/2020 10:03

Rory - lovely.
Sebastian - tricky, I actually really like it but tend to think of Sebastians as being posh villains.
Finley - OK but a bit overdone and think it will date quite badly.
Max - currently very popular but still a lovely name.

Rory gets my vote.

userabcname · 30/04/2020 10:05

Sebastian! Great name.

LavenderLilacTree · 30/04/2020 10:14

Rory.

Lailaloo747 · 30/04/2020 10:21

Finley and Max were my top 2 for my DS.
We went with Finley and I still love it. Only one other in his school so not too popular round here. It does annoy me when people shorten it to Fin because I never call him that but I guess that happens with most names!

CampingCake · 30/04/2020 10:29

We have a Rory. Love it.

123Dancewithme · 30/04/2020 14:11

Max

Orphlids · 30/04/2020 14:21

Rory seems to be the absolute favourite of every person on mumsnet. I’m afraid I cannot see the appeal at all. Can think of few less charismatic sounding names. I really like Sebastian. Finley is quite nice, but just so common. And Max is a bit boring to my ears.

Marimari93 · 01/05/2020 09:12

Any but Sebastian

Sushiroller · 01/05/2020 09:25

Sebastian or at a push Rory.
Maximilian is solid but the ones I know aren't nice so that puts me off.

I think fìnley is a bit cheesy and common. Blush

REdReDRE · 01/05/2020 09:29

Max is my favourite. Don't mind Finley. Rory often comes out as warwee as it can be hard to say for some people. I don't like Sebastian.

MikeUniformMike · 01/05/2020 09:29

I don't like Sebastian. Too long and Seb makes me think of seborrhoea.

Others are nice.

Rory - not good if you can't say R
Finley - popular, as is Finn
Max - where the wild things are.

I'd go for Max.

y0rkier0se · 01/05/2020 09:31

I love Finley - being a teacher is awful for having to pick names as you always associate the name with a child, but every Finley I’ve ever taught has been lovely.

thosethreewords · 01/05/2020 10:33

I love the name Finlay. Someone in my family is named that and he has never had his name shortened to Finn if that helps!

Skykavin · 01/05/2020 13:39

Love Rory! Like Sebastian too. Rory Sebastian would be nice Grin

Goostacean · 01/05/2020 13:40

Sebastian! We also had Max on our shortlist.

emmathedilemma · 01/05/2020 13:48

Finley with a second choice of Max. I prefer Rhuaridh to Rory and not keen on Sebastian (possibly due to one i knew!)

Girlinajumpsuit · 01/05/2020 14:37

We have these 4 names on our shortlist too. I think my personal fave is Rory as it's not too common but also quite classic and not a 'trendy' name really. Finlay I like but would be concerned about it dating and being very of this era. Sebastian and Max are both lovely names too!
