Can I be pretty sure she's going to be Tatty or Ana (if shortened) or is there a good chance she'll go for Tiana or something worse? For people who know Tatianas

I know a physio who uses her full name Tatiana, she's English.

And a Russian Tatiana who uses the diminutive Tanya.

Tatiana is nice and gives plenty of nickname options as you said. But I prefer Tiana. I know one and she goes just by that.

I know a German Tatiana in her 40s who always goes by her full name. I'd say in the UK the highest risk nickname is Tat (as in any old tat, plastic tat etc).

Tatty. Potato or Worn-out.

123Dancewithme · 29/04/2020 12:16

The one I know goes by Tati

Just seperately I once met a Cassiana, her mum like Cassandra and dad like Tatiana, so decided on Cassiana. IMO I think if it's shortened Cassie sounds nicer than Tatti.. However, I do like Tatiana

Love Tatiana. I work with a Hungarian Tatiana (shortened to Tati) and she is a wonderful woman.

IsadoraQuagmire · 29/04/2020 12:46

I was going to call one of my cats Tatiana, but didn't want people to call her Tatty, so went with Anastasia instead (sticking to the Russian Grand Duchess theme)
I know one who's an adult, spelled Tatyana. I think she's always called by her full name at least by friends. Don't know if her family shorten it though.

DoctorBambino · 29/04/2020 13:04

My dog is called Tatiana, usually Tati Grin I love it as a name but would never have used it for a baby. Suits my dog perfectly Grin

LozEliza · 29/04/2020 17:23

My Brazilian colleague is called Tatiana. Most people at work call her Tatiana and Tati occasionally. I don't think she minds either way.

mogtheexcellent · 29/04/2020 17:26

The usual abbreviation is Tanya. I vaguely recall some celeb using Tajiana to prevent the tatty sound. one of Duran Duran I think.

Peacefrog23 · 29/04/2020 17:30

Maybe tana pronounced
tar-na, (Gordon Ramsey's wife) could be short for Tatiana if you don't like the nick name of tatti.

I think Mrs Ramsay is Cayetana

87Callista · 29/04/2020 19:07

I really like the name Tatiana, bot Tatty/Tati though - why shorten such a pretty name and if you want to use Ana just call her Ana.
It feels very Russian otherwise I would seriously consider using it.
I also like Tiana.

astericia · 29/04/2020 21:08

Search buss down Tatiana...

MrSheenandMe · 29/04/2020 21:16

I know a Tatiana who always uses her full name. She is very beautiful, terribly clever and her name suits her very well.
