What do you all think of Rose as a given name?
I do like names that cant be shortened and have been looking for a feminine, strong, mature name.
Do you think it would fit nicely with older brother Noah?

Thank you all.

Its lovely, classic, beautiful, unusual

Whatsyourflava · 28/04/2020 19:13

Absolutely gorgeous - sounds amazing with Noah

Curlysusie · 28/04/2020 19:13

Love it 😊

LochJessMonster · 28/04/2020 19:15

Rose and Noah are great names Smile

mogtheexcellent · 28/04/2020 19:23

was my favourite name but was the only name DH absolutely hated so DD has it as a middle name.

LotusClover · 28/04/2020 19:38

Simple, classic and lovely. Would be nice to see more parents using it as a first name rather than a middle name.

Goes well with Noah too.

CheriLittlebottom · 28/04/2020 20:03

Love it. Classic, elegant, easy to spell & say, not actually that popular (oddly) so less likely to be one of three in the class, feminine without being cutsie or twee.

Pieceofpurplesky · 28/04/2020 20:04

Lovely name

87Callista · 28/04/2020 20:09

Bored to death of it as a middle name (it's mine). Adore it for a first or last name though, despite its popularity as a middle name I've only ever met 2 Rose's 🥀

My2centsare · 28/04/2020 20:09

Love !!!

DramaAlpaca · 28/04/2020 20:40

I love Rose but I couldn't use it with Noah. Knowing me I'd get the names mixed up and keep calling them Roah and Nose Confused Grin

IVflytrap · 28/04/2020 20:42

Refreshing as a first name Smile

Elisheva · 28/04/2020 20:48

It can’t be shortened but would you mind if people lengthened it to Rosie?

CherryPavlova · 28/04/2020 20:50

A beautiful name. I’ve never met an unpleasant Rose.

summersun7 · 28/04/2020 21:03

Thank you all! Such positive responses!
Currently thinking Rose Matilda or Rose Amelia. Did put Rose Arabella on the list but not sure if thats too much?

I love Rose and Matilda but my OH prefers Rosa and doesn't like Matilda 🙄 Rose Matilda is lovely

CheriLittlebottom · 28/04/2020 21:18

Rose Amelia runs together a bit much... Becomes Rosa Melia if you see what I mean!

Rose Matilda is nice but not setting off fireworks for me. I think as Rose is single syllable the middle name does need to be multi-syllabic. Rose Arabella is a bit too frilly for my liking, but the joy of middle names is that they are pretty much invisible so you can get away with something a bit outlandish. (Dd's middle name is Hermione for this exact reason Grin)

Beautiful!

BeaLola · 29/04/2020 00:59

I like Rose a lot ,How about Nina, Verity, Lois

Zoflorabore · 29/04/2020 01:10

I absolutely love the name Rose, as does my 9yr old dd who says that’s what she will be calling her future baby daughter Smile and it also goes great with Noah.

BettyUnderswoob · 29/04/2020 01:17
