Unusual name HELP

Mrick · 28/04/2020 17:10

I’m due a baby boy in 3 weeks and can not find a name my husband and I both like. I think I’ve searched every baby name list that exists on the internet. We already have a girl and a boy with unusual names (Cicely and Rafferty) so I don’t feel I can choose anything overly popular. The names I love are Hugo, Bruno and Gabriel but my husband won’t budge. He likes Hector and Otto but I’m really not keen. Any suggestions? Please help!

Hugo and Gabriel aren’t that unusual so I’d discount them (they’re two of my fav names but they don’t meet your criteria) Hector Otto and Bruno do but obviously you don’t agree on them.

If you like B names how about Barnaby or Bodhi?

I have a Rafferty too, other names on the list for us were Rio, Sidney and Gabriel (we must have similar taste!). I adore the name Murphy too, but would be too surname ish with already having a Raff.

I love Noel, it's currently outside the top 300 and it's the name I want to use if ever I have a boy.

I like the names on both your and your DH’s lists. I’d so love to use the name Wulfric, which some genius suggested on here the other day, but our surname ends in an ‘ic’ sound too, and it just doesn’t go.

Rollo sounds good alongside Rafferty. Slightly bananas, maybe.
