Hi everyone !

We really need some help and some suggestions! We are expecting twin boys, the C section is booked for either the 4th of May or the 14th depending on upcoming scans. But we can't agree on names !!!

We both have our own list -

Husbands list

Joshua (I have a cousin josh but DH loves the name 🙄)
Leo
Lucas
James
Jamie
Thomas

My list
Charlie
Wilfred
Edward
George
Oliver
Louie
Ruben
Freddie *

Any other suggestions that are similar? Or any of those that you think go well together?

Thank you for any suggestions !!! much appreciated I'm going crazy with it all 💙💙

Joshua and Oliver

Downton57 · 01/05/2020 00:14

Leo and George, which isn't too far sound-wise from Josh.

Tavannach · 01/05/2020 01:51

You're the one doing the work so you get to choose and he gets to agree.
Seriously you choose the first names and let him choose the middle names.

itstrue · 01/05/2020 02:35

We each picked a name for our twins. We have never told them this so they don't know who choose what!

The only thing I'd recommend is choose names that sound right no matter which name comes first. My girls have names that sound more comfortable one way that the other. I know it annoys my dd that her name is pretty much always last.

Headbangersandmash · 01/05/2020 02:59

My son is best friends with a Louie and his name is frequently mistaken as Louis by teachers, people on social media etc (Louie is a teen so on SM)

Headbangersandmash · 01/05/2020 03:01

I think that it should be one from each list but not George and Lucas or your family will get Star Wars jokes al the time.

averytiredmom · 01/05/2020 03:02

Either a name each or if he won’t do that then you choose both names and he gets middle names. Joshua should be vetoed as you have family with that name

MikeUniformMike · 01/05/2020 12:07

Jamie and Charlie.

DoctorBambino · 01/05/2020 12:21

Congratulations OP!
I think Leo and Louie would be cute. Or Thomas and Charlie.

Lightofthephoenix · 01/05/2020 12:37

Leo & Kit

Lightofthephoenix · 01/05/2020 12:38

Lucas and Louis

covidcougher · 01/05/2020 12:39

Can you put them in a hat and choose one of each?

Nettleskeins · 01/05/2020 12:43

Theodore and Raphael
Or Theo and Rafe

Nettleskeins · 01/05/2020 12:51

Leo and Kit is great

Poetryinaction · 02/05/2020 08:57

Louis and Thomas would be my choices. One from each list.
But it sounds like one of them is Josh!
So Josh and Louis.

MrsMonicaBing · 02/05/2020 09:03

I let my ex choose my babies names, and then we broke up and now he rarely sees them. Of course I'm not saying this will happen to you, but I have regretted not putting my foot down and using the names I wanted ever since. You have spent 9 months growing two babies, you have every right to name them, or at least have a say!

P. S I like Leo and Louis

YouAreMySunshinee · 02/05/2020 09:04

I like George and Thomas together

Twisique · 02/05/2020 10:31

Chose a name each, the other parent chooses the middle name. Eg Joshua Edward and George James.

SnowdropFox · 02/05/2020 11:52

Is he not open to naming one each?
Are you resistant because he has basiy decided or would those name actually be ok if you think about it?
How often do you see your cousin? If not that often I'd take that away as a reason not to use it.

I personally like Joshua, Ruben, Louis and Lucas.

Hope they arrive safely soon OP.

schafernaker · 02/05/2020 23:05

From your lists I’d go for one from each

Thomas and George would be my choice from what you have.

I’ve always thought I’d name twin boys thomas and Joseph 😂

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 02/05/2020 23:17

Why don't you name one and your DH name the other. I'd say that's a fair compromise.

annacus · 03/05/2020 01:12

We have a situation with relatives where one parent insisted on choosing the baby's name - a name that the other parent positively disliked - and three years on it still rankles and the name is universally disliked by everyone else in the family. It definitely doesn't suit the child.

JKScot4 · 03/05/2020 01:14

Josh & Freddie
name one each

user3274826 · 03/05/2020 01:20

Your names are more traditional and his more classic but both lists are very popular/safe (dare I say bland?) but they will all blend together, so the most obvious thing to do is pick one each, surely? It's not like you want Sylvester and he wants Jayden.

Wolfgirrl · 03/05/2020 01:25

Charlie & Leo!
