Thoughts on Zoe? And what middle name?

I quite like Zoe at the moment although I change my mind frequently, what does everyone else think? I want something thats not drab, not too common but works as a stand alone name ie nothing too out there.
We have a long surname so I like short sharp names with an e or y ending, DD1 has a similar sounding name but with a softer middle name.
What middle name suggestions do you all have? Again it needs to be short but softer. Tia

Really dislike the name Zoe - so sorry

I love Zoe. Short, neat names are right up my street. I'm useless at suggesting middle names though.

I like Zoe, I’d say give her a long middle name -for eg Josephine, Christina, Francesca.

We have a Zoe Juliet. Love the name and really suits her!

Marlena1 · 28/04/2020 08:04

I like it, short, not too put there and a bit funky, Zara is similar and nice I think also.

Marlena1 · 28/04/2020 08:05

Sorry "out there"

mondler · 28/04/2020 09:28

I love Zoe, it's on our list if we ever have a girl. We were thinking of middle Elizabeth, Olivia, Wren or Marie before we found out we were having a DS.

Are there any names with meanings or family names that are possible? We ended up doing that for DS as a relative was ill and passed away after a couple of weeks of him being born. I now love saying his full name and explaining when people ask.

Good luck!

LotusClover · 28/04/2020 09:39

Faye is perfect as a short, soft middle name. Zoe Faye is lovely.

peperethecat · 28/04/2020 10:12

Love the name Zoe.

I think the middle name needs to be something a bit longer, and without the O vowel sound.

Love all the positive responses, Zoe is definitely top of my list and becoming a firm favourite. I might even stick with this one!

Thank you all for the suggestions for middle names, I really love some of them! Will ponder and see how some of them settle and if I can think of any others too 😊

I think we would stick with Zoe rather than Zoë purely for ease. Everyone knows how to pronounce it and I think the symbols would be dropped by anyone else writing or typing her name.

Also going to steer away from middle names with connections to family because my other two DC have no references in their names so would feel strange to suddenly add one with this one.

Thank you all again 👍
