A few years ago now, I decided when the time comes and I have a baby I would call a girl Amelia and a boy Noah.
Just before I found out I was pregnant, I had a dream that I gave birth to a little girl and named her Connie.
I found out I was pregnant not long after. I knew I was having a little boy. I decided on Noah for a boy. But if my suspicions were wrong, I chose Matilda for a girl. It was confirmed I was having a boy and a few months later Noah was born.
Roll on a few years and I am expecting again.

This time I am really struggling with a girls name. My boys name is decided. I had posted so many threads and had a few good ideas, but still nothing feels like "the one". I have Daisy Matilda as one possible but I have been thinking back to Amelia......

I cannot use Matilda (used by a close friend) and I once adored Amelia, many years before Matilda.

So.... Just putting it out there. Do you think Millie would be a good compromise for someone who once loved Amelia and Matilda?

Thank you.

We know an Emily who is known as Millie. What about Maisie / Maisy as an alternative?

Amelia is lovely. Millie is dull as dishwater.

@Needtobepositive My first car was called Maisie so kind of puts me off the name.

Just call her Amelia. There’s plenty about and I’m sure no one will associate it with a missing limb

Isn’t it funny that so many people think it’s a dull and boring name yet others think it’s lovely.
Personally I think it’s lovely in the same strain as Mollie, Maisie and Daisy. But you’ll get either yah or nay answers.
I’ve often wondered why what other people that are complete strangers think of a name you like. Surely the fact that you like it should be enough.
I mean there’s a mn who is calling her baby Ireland despite the overwhelming majority myself included thinking not such a good pickHmm

@giggly I would agree that it's similar to Molly, Maisy and Daisy. I just think they're all quite dull. ;)

giggly, it's because it's so overused. There are billions of them. Once you see a name too many times, that's it, usually.
