Vivienne or Vivian

DH totally loves the name Vivienne. I do love it but am not keen on the shortening Viv. I prefer Vivi or V before Viv. What are your preferred spelling/pronunciation?

How would you naturally pronounce Vivienne? I prefer this spelling. What are your thoughts?

Go with Vivienne and you've a fair chance of Vivi ending up as the shortening if you push it.

ViviAn is the male version.

Think it can also be spelt Vyvienne

My grandad was called Vivian, what a lovely name for someone born in 1920, really stands the test of time. I think you can get away with spelling it how you like though, there are enough names nowadays that break the "rules". Spelling is a moving target.

Viviane is another option.
