Theodore and ???

DH and I cannot agree on a name for our second. Big brother is Theodore but we call him Theo.
These are some we quite like but any inspiration would be great!

  1. Florence ( too popular I think)
  2. Sophia ( same as above)
  3. Edie ( not keen on Edith)
  4. Myla
  1. Luca
  2. Xavier ( shortened to Xav or Xavi)
  3. Dylan

Thank you!

Really like all your names. I don’t think Florence or Sophia are anywhere near as popular as Theo are they? I’ll check the stats. Are you looking for a less popular name this time around?

Love Edie and Xav

I love Xavier! Definitely top boy choice.

userabcname · 25/04/2020 14:45

I think Florence would be my top girl choice (sorry, hit send too soon!).

Apart from Florence and Sophia, I don’t think your names go with Theodore, if that bothers you. I dislike Edie. It’s a non-name. Similarly Myla. Luca and Xavier are odd too. Xavier is nice on its own but you’ll get varying pronunciations. I like Dylan but not sure it goes, and it’s generally pronounced wrongly anyway.

Millicent - don't know why this one popped into my head
Christina or Christopher - to pair up with God-lover
Abigail - means "father rejoices" so a pairing in a different way

I know someone who has 2 sons called Theodore and Solomon - theo and sol. They're very artsy with an elaborate double barrelled name and it really suits them.

Sorry a bit late but I just had to chime in here because a friend just had an Elodie and I think Theodore and Elodie would be adorable together (you could call her Edie for short).

Theodore Jacob is on my shortlist so maybe Jacob for a boy?

TeddyBeans · 09/05/2020 11:25

I have a Theodore and my top sibling names would be Charlotte, Matilda or Rosalie for a girl and Henry or Zachary for a boy

@booklover164 for boys Fabien, Alasdair, Christopher shorted to Kitt, Oscar. girls Helena, Eloise, Cordelia, Cressida, Louisa, Luella, Eliza, Evelyne. Theo & Lou / Lulu or Theo and Evie would sound cute together. Xavier and Florence are lovely but if gets shortened to Flo may sound a bit samey with Theo.

Edenember · 09/05/2020 12:14

@booklover164 oh and For some reason I’m drawn to O names to match with Theo... Ophelia, Oliver, Oriana, Orbel, Orlagh, Ottilie / Ottoline . Eulalia and Evanthe are two more girls ones I think would go.
