Thoughts? Heard it the other day can it be taken seriously - the sound isn't frilly and it's simple to spell, say, don't mind Lola and Lottie as shortenings either but need some more opinions

It’s a car.
Sounds too much like Locust for me

LotusClover · 24/04/2020 09:19

Makes me think of the Lotus biscoff biscuits. (Which I love, hence the username!) Grin

PurpleDaisies · 24/04/2020 09:21

It’s a biscuit!

Disfordarkchocolate · 24/04/2020 09:21

I can understand your reasoning but it just makes me think of sex/ vulva.

babynamelover · 24/04/2020 09:47

As above me too.

TenThousandSpoons0 · 24/04/2020 09:55

Sorry, dislike it - A lotus birth is one where the placenta is left attached to the cord until it falls off by itself, so placenta and baby travel around together for the first week or two - not sure if that’s something you’ve heard of before but I immediately think of that! Lottie and Lola are nice - could just use either of them, or another name with those nicknames? (Carlotta, Charlotte, etc)

YakkityYakYakYak · 24/04/2020 09:56

Not a fan either sorry

Speedqueen2 · 24/04/2020 09:56

It's a car!

Figgygal · 24/04/2020 09:56

It’s a car or a biscuit
No it can’t be taken seriously for a person

Hayfevered · 24/04/2020 09:57

Too many associations. It's a cross-legged meditation pose for me.

FawnDrench · 24/04/2020 09:59

It's a shoe label, so a definite no from me.
Also, reminds me of "locust".

HalfTermHalfTerm · 24/04/2020 10:59

I really don’t like the sound of it (sorry) and for some reason I think it sounds very masculine so even though it’s a flower/plant I assumed you were going to be talking about naming a boy when I clicked on the thread Blush Confused

Lola is lovely though!

bridgetreilly · 24/04/2020 11:08

I thought you were thinking of it for a boy, too. Like the cars.

bridgetreilly · 24/04/2020 11:09

Also the sound is different from Lottie, so I wouldn't find that a natural short form. Lola, maybe.

MikeUniformMike · 24/04/2020 11:38

You need to use Elise as a middle name.

Mucklowe · 24/04/2020 11:43

Too many sexual connotations. Also the "-tus" part is an ugly sound.

Blursula · 24/04/2020 12:54

I’m sorry but it just makes me think of a vagina

jaoler · 24/04/2020 13:10

I actually quite like it! I wouldn't use it myself, but I'd like it if I heard it!!! 😂

GinWithASplashOfTonic · 24/04/2020 14:09

It's a very pretty flower and a yoga position. I say go for it

BurneyFanny · 24/04/2020 17:20

Brand of toilet paper across much of Europe

Strugglingtodomybest · 24/04/2020 17:50

I can understand your reasoning but it just makes me think of sex/ vulva.

Me too, but I don't know why!

Jamiladodger · 24/04/2020 18:06

Car / sexual position

Jamiladodger · 24/04/2020 18:07

Wait....is that a yoga position? Why do I think of sex 😂🤦🏽‍♀️

myangelalex · 24/04/2020 18:50

Goodness! No!

Wheresthebiffer2 · 25/04/2020 00:09

sounds like a brand of feminine hygiene products, or toilet paper
