DH loves the name Florence and I really like it too. Although I feel like I've heard this name loads lately, is it massively popular?

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

One in DDs school of about 400 children. Personally I really like the name Smile

REdReDRE · 21/04/2020 19:37

My daughters have one Florence each among their friends. Pretty popular but not loads of them - it's a beautiful name, go for it!

ememem84 · 21/04/2020 19:38

Dd is Florence. Named after three of our 4 grandmas.

emmathedilemma · 21/04/2020 19:39

I love it, one of my favourite names. I don’t think I know, or know of, any though.

emmathedilemma · 21/04/2020 19:40

Correction (slow brain day!), I know of 2 but both 7-9 sort of age group. Both known as Flo or Florrie.

GinWithASplashOfTonic · 21/04/2020 19:40

I really like it

CheshireCats · 21/04/2020 19:40

It's a gorgeous name. ❤️

otterbaby · 21/04/2020 19:43

Glad to hear it, must just see it loads while trawling through the baby name threads 😂

Love it. I work across multiple primary schools and there is only 1 or 2 in each and one school has none.

ofwarren · 21/04/2020 19:57

I don't know any at all and I think it's a lovely name

missanony · 21/04/2020 20:01

Just as long as you like Flo & Floss too

userabcname · 21/04/2020 20:02

I do know a couple of babies born recently called Florence. Not sure it's coincidence or rising in popularity though. As a teacher I've not taught many of them.

SummerintoAutumn · 21/04/2020 20:07

It was my nan's name.
I work in a girls' secondary school. No Florences in 650 pupils.

AcrobaticCardigan · 21/04/2020 20:10

Really lovely name!

dreamingofrainbows · 21/04/2020 20:13

I only know of one Florence.
Such a beautiful name.

Whatsyourflava · 21/04/2020 20:15

Don’t know any children or babies called Florence
None at my child’s nursery
It’s lovely!! One of my favourites

bulliedintonamechange · 21/04/2020 20:19

Love love love

Florencenotflo · 21/04/2020 20:47

I love it! But I didn't like the nickname Flo (hence they username!) so we went with Evie Florence for DD1. I love her name but I actually think Florence suits her just as much as Evie does. Dd is the only Evie at nursery but there always seems to be another one where ever we go. I don't know any other Florence's!

Adelais · 21/04/2020 22:03

I like Florence but it’s quite popular near me. I know 6 aged between 1 and 7.

MrsMyreton · 21/04/2020 22:07

Love it!

lilgreen · 21/04/2020 22:11

4 in my school of 80. 3 are in Key Stage 1.

CloudsCanLookLikeSheep · 21/04/2020 22:14

Personally it always feels like its a bit of a mouthful to say. Sorry not a fan.

pinkpanther84 · 21/04/2020 22:25

Absolutely love the name, it's beautiful
