okay I love the name Maverick-means nonconformist and I love Chosen for a name but I was looking for names with the same meaning as Maverick and a name similar to Chosen. Also another name that incorporates Angela in it but not Angelina, Angelo, Angel, Angelica, or Angelique i'm looking for something different. And the same thing with the name Robert but not Robbie, Bobbie, Roberta etc.

Call your DS Maverick if you like - your baby, your choice.
Most of us on here don't think it is a name with good associations.

If you have already come across several Mavericks, why not give your child a more unusual name?

Freedom? Baby has the choice then to follow whatever path they choose x

OP I am sorry but facts are facts.The name Maverick could not be more closely linked to the allegedly dishonest cattle-owner and his slave-owning (and worse) ancestors.
As I've said, the history of the name Maverick is shameful.

Also, if you are not a 'follower', I'm honestly not sure why you are keen on a name that is rapidly rising in popularity. If you chose it, wouldn't you just be following the growing number of other parents who have recently decided to use the name?

But your baby your choice, obviously.

@Actressy right. my child is a representation of me. Its okay guys people name their kids after leaders or names that means leader all the time and no one is bashing them for not living up to it lol

Delilah is getting popular and that has bad associations.
It doesn't stop people choosing it.

Ella, Gelly, Gigi, Annie, for Angela or Seraphin/Seraphina if it’s the meaning that matters

Berta/Bertie, Robyn, Roby for Robert maybe

Could go with Independence (Indy/Indie) I guess

Not really.
They were just the first name that came to my mind. Although I'm not sure they are really names.
