Hi,

I’m 33 weeks pregnant and may have FINALLY decided on a name!

We have a daughter Poppy Rose already (my middle name is Rose too). For our new addition I’ve really warmed to the name Elsie. My partner used to get called LC (his initials when he was younger) so I thought it was sweet!

Anyway we need a middle name!

What do you think of Elsie Eve? Too much? Just we found out on Xmas Eve we were expecting a girl.

OR

Elsie Willow?

Any other suggestions are welcome.

Ah Elsie is beautiful

Elsie Eve is lovely and Elsie Willow gorgeous too

Aww such a nice idea for her name!!
I like Elsie May :)

helpmum2003 · 20/04/2020 21:00

Elsie Eve is a bit much i think. Elsie Willow is nice.

Elsie Holly for the Xmas theme.
Elsie Stella (star)
Elsie Grace
Elsie Louise
Elsie Rowan
Elsie Paige
Elsie Maeve
Elsie Alice
Elsie Audrey

Unfortunately the best middle name for Elsie is probably Rose! It goes really well. Don’t suppose you could use it again so you all have it????

I think 1 syllable sounds good with Elsie. Elsie May? Elsie Grace? Elsie Charlotte? (Ok that’s not 1 syllable but sounds nice!)

missyB1 · 20/04/2020 21:03

Elsie Eve doesn’t sound right to me - too clunky and awkward.

Elsie Willow is pretty. Or;
Elsie Hope
Elsie Frances
Elsie Faye
Elsie Lydia

Cbeebiesrehab · 20/04/2020 21:16

I love Elsie Eve and that it has sentimental meaning!

CaitlinEJ · 20/04/2020 21:57

I have an Elsie, Elsie Jean (Jean is a family name)
What about:
Elsie Kate
Elsie Elizabeth
Elsie Lily (keep a flower theme)
Elsie Briar (Briar Rose if you wanted them to have sort of matching Ames but not obvious)
Elsie Grace
Elsie Hope
Elsie Jade
Elsie Louise
Elsie Jane

Elsie Willow is really quite lovely. Elsie Eve doesn't work well. I don't think any of my ideas are any better than Elsie Willow.

Elsie Matilda
Elsie Frances
Elsie Jemima
Elsie Louisa
Elsie Blythe

daisypond · 21/04/2020 07:53

I see your reasoning behind Elsie, but to me it’s such a drab and ugly name, especially alongside Poppy, which is nice. Eve is much better. Could you use that first?

MikeUniformMike · 21/04/2020 11:39

I'm not keen on Elsie, and Elsie Eve is a bit wishy washy.

Poppy Rose is nice but they are two flowers.

MikeUniformMike · 21/04/2020 11:41

Oops, sorry. You already have a Poppy Rose. It's still nice.
I like Eve. Willow is ok.

Eve Willow?

Whatsyourflava · 21/04/2020 15:23

Oh I adore the name Elsie and love the connection with the LC initials - very clever and an interesting tale for her to tell about her name when she’s older
Elsie Willow and Elsie Eve both lovely

LotusClover · 21/04/2020 16:26

How about Elsie Maeve? That way you still have the "Eve" in there. Or another flower name to keep the flower theme, like Elsie Jasmine or Elsie Violet?

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 21/04/2020 17:16

There’s too many E sounds in Elsie Eve.
Elsie Willow is very pretty.
Other ideas
Elsie Marie
Elsie Jane
Elsie Louise
Elsie Wren

Elsie willow is beautiful.

How about Fearne, Heather, Robyn or Marie.

Bethanyr2608 · 23/04/2020 16:40

Thank you for all your suggestions. We’ve settled on Elsie Willow. The other half has agreed! Grin

Elsie willow is nice and you have two nature names for Poppy so Willow gives Elsie a bit of nature as well
