Eden?

What's your opinion on the name Eden?

Yep. Lovely for boy or girl.

I know one of each and both are gorgeous!

Only know of girls called Eden but it's lovely.

I don’t like it. Would it be shortened?

I prefer for a girl I think.

I'm not so keen for a boy but like it for a girl. I wouldn't personally use it though as I'd worry it's too pressurising like the virtue names, having a clumsy Grace or impatient Patience iyswim, like

I love it for a girl. If I’d had another girl when I had my second child, she would have been called Eden.

Dissenter here: I really dislike it. Makes me think of the Garden of Eden, a bloody awful story about how women are the root of all sin which has been used for millennia as an excuse to declare women as an evil that needs to been beaten back and controlled.

Sounds pretty-ish though. As always, an opinion is only an opinion.

For a boy, no way. For a girl, it’s ok, not great.

Really dislike it, sorry. Sounds so ridiculously try hard. Reminds me of that awful American reality series "Eden's World" about a spoilt little pageant loving princess, who thinks the world revolves around her because.... "It's Eden's world!" 🙄 And for a boy... I... Just.... Can't... Surely no one would do that!?

I’ve only met Eden’s that are in very religious (Jewish) families.

Never came across it as a boy's name but quite like that too.

An old friend of mine has a four year old boy called Eden. When I met her a couple of years ago, I'd never heard it as a name before. I thought it was unusual but not daft. I like it. It's fresh. It is also a good name for any age.

Chavvy as f**k. It'll be Ede.
Edie on its own is much prettier.

I like it and think it suits any gender.
