Confused about Girls Names

noahsmum256 · 16/04/2020 10:58

I've posted a couple of times now but I'm still so confused, nothing is standing out as "the name".
With my son Noah, I had the name for many years and it "felt right".

So far I've considered Hope and Heidi. Hope isn't sitting right with the surname and doesn't feel like "the one". Heidi is sweet, but its not quite there.

I love Harper, but I'm aware its a bit of a marmite name. People either love it or hate it.
I'm also very attracted to the name Summer. Something about it appeals to me.

I grew up with a very unusual name and I disliked being the only one. My son enjoy's having another Noah in his class. And as I have one popular name, I would like to stick with popular names. But I look over and over the name lists and nothing feels right. I'm fearing she will be called 'baby' forever.

Please help!

I've noticed most of the names you're considering so far begin with an "H" - is that important?

How about: -

Heather
Hannah
Hilary
Holly
Harriet

Honor

No specific requirement for a H name.
Happy to consider any names.

Hazel or Heather?

Or as you seem to like quite "sweet" names, Posy, Esme, Beatrice/Beatrix (Bea), Sophie, Lucy, Skye, Autumn, Isla, Iona, Iris

If you like Summer go for it Smile

Haz1516 · 16/04/2020 11:20

Summer is a lovely name.

How about:
Iris
Lydia
Emilia
Grace
Imogen

All popular but not overused.

PenfoldsFive · 16/04/2020 11:22

Summer is lovely. I think it it ‘speaks’ to you then it could well be The One.

Mumma4262 · 16/04/2020 11:29

Summer goes lovely with Noah.

We are naming our little girl Violet.

Finnemoo · 16/04/2020 11:30

How about Stella?

FaithHopeandGlory · 16/04/2020 11:34

Grace?

OuterMongolia · 16/04/2020 11:43

Out of the names you've mentioned, I love Summer.

Whatsyourflava · 16/04/2020 11:52

Imogen
Eliza
Sadie

I don’t like Hope but love Summer, Harper and Heidi

Pinkypink · 16/04/2020 12:10

I know you said it didn't have to be an 'H' name. But I wondered about Honor and Hero.
Other names I like with Noah that may suit your taste
-Alba
-Thea
-Eden

Summer is lovely and I would choose that. Don't focus too much on having 'the one' chosen in advance. Feel out some names then file a few away for when she is born. When she is born go through that little list and something will quite probably jump out at you.

Others to consider:
Lucy
Daisy
Eliza
Louisa
Idony
Sylvia
Adira
Saffron
Mary
Joni (Joanie)
Anya
Anoushka
Emily
Skye
Iona
Eleanor
Lydia

OP have you been through the Top 1000 baby name lists for inspiration? It's a good memory jog of names you may have forgotten about.

Summer is really lovely. A good choice I think, and not too unusual.

Elsie
Phoebe
Lucy
Maisie

NuffSaidSam · 16/04/2020 23:38

Is she here yet? If not, wait till she's born and see what she looks like.

Also, go for the name you love. If you love Harper go for it.

Gertie75 · 16/04/2020 23:39

If you love the name Harper then why not use it?
Any name is marmite, you'll never find one that 100% of people like.
There's a Harper in dd's class, I've never heard anyone comment on it either way.

Whatsyourflava · 16/04/2020 23:40

@Gertie75 I agree, I think OP should use Harper - she keeps coming back to it and I have a feeling she’ll regret it if she doesn’t use it (....and it’s such a lovely name)

Finnemoo · 17/04/2020 08:24

Another one: Piper? I love it and it feels a bit feistier than Summer to me.

Ellmau · 17/04/2020 08:57

Hermione
Sophie
Charlotte
Emma
Amy
Faith
Ava
