What do you think of the name

Liberty?

Enough4me · 15/04/2020 10:37

It's ok, but makes me think of the Statue of Liberty and also the not well used expression anymore: "taking a liberty", which is a negative thing.

I prefer Libby (Elizabeth).

OnlyJudyCanJudgeMe · 15/04/2020 10:37

Nah, it’s not a name to me.

georgialondon · 15/04/2020 10:39

I think it's a bit chavtastic. But I think if you love it you should use it. It's your baby and your choice.

Umnoway · 15/04/2020 11:05

Not a fan. I knew a woman years ago who named her DD this and she was always called Libby which I also hate. I know someone who just used Libby which is awful.

daisypond · 15/04/2020 11:22

It’s fine. I rather like it.

MikeUniformMike · 15/04/2020 17:56

Nice name for a department store.

june2007 · 15/04/2020 17:57

Yes I know a few sometimes efered to as libby.

UnrulySalvia · 15/04/2020 18:06

I like it but the fact that George Osborne named his daughter that puts me off...

keepingbees · 15/04/2020 18:08

I know one, very sweet child and definitely not a chav. She gets called Libby a lot.

Whatsyourflava · 15/04/2020 18:11

I love I. Not chavy. I know some v posh people who have chosen it.
“Selfish mother” aka molly Gunn on instagrams daughter has this lovely name

userabcname · 15/04/2020 18:12

I like it! I don't think it's chavvy.

PeraltasWife · 15/04/2020 18:13

Love it, think it sounds very pretty and can be shortened to Libby, Lib when older

Orphlids · 15/04/2020 18:13

I’m not keen either, I’m afraid. I don’t like the “ber” sound in the middle. Or the “Lib” sound either, actually. To my ears, it sounds clunky and indelicate. But if you love it, then please don’t be put off my our opinions - this is your baby, not ours.

5LeafPenguin · 15/04/2020 18:15

I think it's pretty.

jackstini · 15/04/2020 18:18

I know one in her 20's and it does suit her
Uni friends all call her Libby but at home about half and half

ludicrouslemons · 15/04/2020 18:20

I just hear butty

Also sounds really bad if you drop your Ts

bridgetreilly · 15/04/2020 18:33

I think it sounds like a burlesque dancer or drag queen name, tbh.

Whatsyourflava · 15/04/2020 18:58

Reminds me of Liberty Ross- absolute Stunner!! Great name

DramaAlpaca · 15/04/2020 19:00

Being blunt, I think it's horrible.

I do like Libby, though, as a diminutive for Elizabeth.

87Callista · 15/04/2020 19:26

Liberty X on nonstop Vibe

scrivette · 15/04/2020 19:27

I love it.

Tillygetsit · 16/04/2020 22:59

Reminds me of Catherine Tate's nan character.

Astronica · 16/04/2020 23:29

I'm not keen on it.
