What do you think of Calla for a girl?

Never heard of it. Did you make it up? Sounds like "Carla" in a Leeds accent.

It's not the worst made-up name I've heard.

Immediately think of lillies? Which isn't necessarily a bad thing, as long as you don't mind that it's a traditional funeral / sympathy flower?

It's a lovely sounding name, and the Greek word for beautiful, is that right? Similar to Callie but I think prettier. Nice for something different but not crazy made up.

We don't call them shut up lilies though, do we? And the OP has not stated the pronunciation of the double l will be like that in Spanish.

Never heard it as a name before, but I do like calla lillies! It has the potential to be one of those “how do you spell that” names though.
