OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
halcyondays · 12/04/2020 12:21

No, it’s awful.

Spartak · 12/04/2020 12:28

Makes me think of the disease as well.

RobynSH · 12/04/2020 12:30

Like the Taxi firm?

LatteLover12 · 12/04/2020 12:38

Addison means 'son of Adam' so no, definitely not for a girl anyway!

I actually know a little bit called Addison but his dad is called Adam.

Sunshine1235 · 12/04/2020 12:46

I like it as a boys name (sorry not helpful)

Boireannachlaidir · 12/04/2020 12:56

Mmmm that'll be a no. For the love of god are there no other names out there you could choose?

Isn't it a brand of plastic-ware for kitchens? Washing up buckets and the like Grin

emilybrontescorsett · 12/04/2020 13:13

No don’t like it. Reminds me of Adidas even though I know they are pronounced differently.

dalmatianmad · 12/04/2020 13:21

Addison's disease Confused

Fedup2020 · 12/04/2020 13:22

Sounds like a cheap supermarket

daisypond · 12/04/2020 13:32

No. It’s a disease and means son of.

Pemba · 12/04/2020 13:36

Just horrible. Surname very obviously mean 'son of'. Diseases, adders etc. Terrible choice. Give the poor kid an actual girls' name please FGS.

daisypond · 12/04/2020 13:39

How about Alison? Due a comeback.

Easilyanxious · 12/04/2020 13:51

If you like it go for it , other people's opinions don't matter . Names are a personal thing . Just make sure you always like what a name can be shortened to etc as someone always ends up doing this . I personally like it and never chose my children's names for what they meant just if I liked them or not

VenusClapTrap · 12/04/2020 14:02

Son of. Makes no sense.

daffodilrosedaisy · 12/04/2020 14:03

Reminds me of Addison Lee the taxi service I learnt about from rap songs

daisypond · 12/04/2020 14:25

If you like it go for it , other people's opinions don't matter .
But the OP is asking, and this is the baby names section. Other people’s opinions actually do matter - people will make judgements and the child will have to live with it. The OP can choose how much they want to take those opinions into consideration.

Haffdonga · 12/04/2020 14:32

Would you really want to name your child a name associated with a disease? Would you call a child Alzheimer or Parkinson or Rubella or Chlamydia?

Easilyanxious · 12/04/2020 15:00

Maybe people shouldn't be making a judgement on someone's name why would you do that ? It's not like it's a made up way out there name . Personally I judge a person not what they are called. But any name someone won't like

AdoptedBumpkin · 12/04/2020 15:02

My first thought was Chris Addison, so I'm inclined to say 'no'.

daisypond · 12/04/2020 15:12

Maybe people shouldn't be making a judgement on someone's name why would you do that ?
Because people do. You can see on this thread. How can you like or not like a name without passing some sort of judgment on it? You said you liked it. You made a judgment on the name.

Easilyanxious · 12/04/2020 15:17

I wouldn’t judge a person by there name though is what I meant which is how I read the comment . Maybe I misinterpreted what they meant

emmathedilemma · 12/04/2020 15:48

No and no again!

Positevibes · 12/04/2020 17:45

I like

AJTracey · 12/04/2020 17:47

Addison Lee

PineappleDanish · 12/04/2020 17:47

No - it's awful. Anything which has "son" on the end isn't suitable for a girl.
