I know one Bethan - late 30s. Always a Bethan, never Beth. All the Beths I know are Elizabeths. No Emmelines but plenty of Emmas and Emilys of all ages.

I think they’re both nice names, quite different in feel. If pushed I’d vote for Bethan.

Emmeline sounds like the braces Invisalign, it’s too frilly and could get shortened/nicknamed to a name very similar with a whole load of other names

Emmeline. Bethan is a middle aged welsh woman, and I dislike how people who don' t speak Welsh say it.

I much prefer Emma to Emmeline.

Emmeline probably slightly edges it over Bethan, but I think they're both really nice.

I prefer Emmeline. Unless you're in Wales Bethan will be mispronounced as "Beth-un" like how Megan is mispronounced as "Meg-un".

What’s the Welsh way of pronouncing Bethan? I imagine it sounds prettier in welsh!
Otherwise I prefer Emmeline.

It’s more like ‘Beth-anne’ Or ‘Meg-anne’ in Wales rather than the ‘un’ pronunciation elsewhere. My vote though is for Emmeline. It’s the name of my good friend’s little girl and she is a strong, fierce little lady- really lives up to the name!
