Just don't "love" any names :(

OH have a small shortlist of names that we like, however, none of them feel like the one. Beating myself up over the fact I'm just not in love with a name yet. Our list consists of:
Ezra
Sonny
Arlo
Reuben
Flynn
Bodhi
Max

My favourite name is Roman, although OH doesn't like it much. Out of our list, my favourite is Ezra and OH likes Arlo.

Please hit me with suggestions of names you think I might like/love! We don't want anything too long as OH's surname is fairly long.

Thank you - work your magic! 💖

My brother and his gf felt the same way and waited almost 2 weeks until they named their DD so you're not alone it's actually very common, it's quite a big deal and you're not taking it lightly which definitely isn't a bad thing! Smile
My favourites from your list are Ezra and Max. I love Max! He could perhaps be a Maximilian?

Here are some other suggestions that come to mind after having read your list:

River
Billy
Jacob
Milo
Archer
Ellis
Rudy
Roland
Albie
Rhett
Lucas
Finnegan
Alto
Enzo
Jesse
Levi
George

Congratulations and Good Luck! Flowers

Have you had the baby yet? Might not be a bad idea to see how you feel when you meet him.

I like Ezra the most out of your list. Reuben is nice too. Dislike Arlo, as it sounds like the local pronunciation of Harlow... Roman is nice, but getting very popular apparently.

Ezra - Love
Sonny - love
Arlo - Love
Reuben- ok
Flynn - Love
Bodhi - Love
Max - Love

You’ve got a gorgeous list @Seagull94 . I don’t like Roman anymore as it’s the top fastest rising boy name so one to avoid now I’d say. Has rising over 600 places and will be top 10 soon. More and more TOWIE people and other celebs keep choosing Roman for their babies so it’s going to continue to boom. I’m sure we can find a name you both love. I’ll think of some suggestions and post below

Whatsyourflava · 08/04/2020 12:25

Boys names with good nicknames:

Christopher nn Kit
Wilf(red) nn Wilf
Barnaby nn Barney or Barns
Nathan/Nathaniel nn Nate
Rafferty / Raffy
Sidney nn Sid
Laurence nn Laurie

Other ideas:

Marley
Eli
Ellis
Miles / Milo
Seth
Cole
Otis
Eric
Casper
Rudy/Rudi
Dexter
Blake
Angus
Dominic
Idris
Percy
Chester
Caleb
River
Otto

If I’m honest ds’s name is one that I found “perfectly nice”. It ticks all the boxes for a name for him (classical, easy to spell and pronounce, goes well with our surname, neither rare nor really popular, nice sound) and will be a good name for all his different life stages. But I don’t love it. And I never did.

But it’s fine. (He’s six now.) It suits him and he likes it. And he is so fabulous that it doesn’t really matter.

Robs20 · 08/04/2020 12:28

I feel exactly the same and am having a c section in 2 weeks! From your list I like some of the less common names (so would avoid Arlo and Max). They are all lovely names - can you decide when baby is born?

Seagull94 · 08/04/2020 12:33

Thank you for your suggestions and reassurance! I really beat myself up about things like this, I'm sure when baby arrives something will just fit. I'm devastated about how popular Roman is becoming.

From suggestions so far, I've added

Austin
Elijah
Isaac
Jude

I'm the type of super organised person that would just love to have everything sorted and set in stone, but I guess I'll have to wait 😅 keep your suggestions coming.

Thanks lovelies xxx

Isn't Ezra a girl's name? DD's friend's DM is an Ezra

Seagull94 · 08/04/2020 12:44

@MrsJoshNavidi I've never heard of a girl named Ezra, but know of several boys with the name Hmm

OP posts:
IVflytrap · 08/04/2020 12:44

No, it's a Hebrew boy's name.

87Callista · 08/04/2020 16:14

I know of one LO called Ezra at my nieces school who is about...5 years old and is a girl. Very sweet darling little girl but I thought it was a boys name too, but only ever known one in "real life" and they're a girl so I guess it's being used as a unisex name now? I reallllly like Ezra.
I'm going to check names.darkgreener.com to see if it's used for girls or boys more in the UK.
Results are in:
EZRA(boys): Up from 633rdto 59th
EZRA(girls): Up from 0to 1234th
Smile
