Hello MN!

We would be grateful for your help, opinions and alternative suggestions to our current girls list:

Connie (I really love Constance as a FN)
Bonnie
Polly

We love the name Anna also but we can't use it due to it being used by a family member.

Thank you 😘

Bonnie is the nicest. Polly is okay. It seems you like the old fashioned scullery maid names!

You could merge and have Pollyanna.

Constance is a bit stale/twee, imo it's not very pretty and it would be a bit of a gamble as to whether she would like it when shes older.

How about:
Rosa
Faith
Alice
Primrose

SnowdropFox · 05/04/2020 10:18

Love Constance with or without the Connie.
Not keen on the other two as they are embedded as animal names in my mind!

If you like the ie/y sound try

Winifred nn Winnie
Holly
Ellie
Josie
Halle

Tara is lovely

missmouse101 · 05/04/2020 11:37

Polly is very nice. Dislike the others I'm afraid.

daisypond · 06/04/2020 01:40

Bonnie is horrid. I like Constance. I’m not wild on Connie, though. Polly is nice and is growing on me.

DramaAlpaca · 06/04/2020 01:56

I agree with every word daisypond said.

whatausername · 06/04/2020 02:08

Bonnie isn't nice as a name and it's an adjective anyway so, to me, it's like calling your DC Tall or Green. waits for someone to come along and list a load of common adjective-names Wink

I like Polly and Constance. Not a huge fan of Connie but it's pleasant enough. I'd probably go for Polly.

Jossina · 06/04/2020 04:17

All are nice nicknames.

OddshoesOddsocks · 06/04/2020 04:53

This is pretty much much name list! Grin

Connie has been my fave since the get go, Anna is a close second. I’m not mega keen on Constance though and prefer ‘nicknames’ to have a ‘proper name’ for the BC

MrsCantthinkofaname · 06/04/2020 08:13

My sister is called Connie and I think it’s such a pretty name. I’ve never met another either. I like Polly. Not keen on Bonnie at all - I think of as a dogs name.

Cyberworrier · 06/04/2020 08:40

Constance with nn Connie is great, Connie is very pretty but good to have an elegant more serious alternative if she fancies it when growing up. I agree with PPs suggestion of Clementine nn Clemmie as an option?
Polly I think is a bit too nursery rhyme for me. Bonnie is nice but just makes me think of Bonny as an adjective rather than a name and I would worry that being called ‘Pretty’ or ‘lovely’ or however we translate it would be a heavy name to carry, especially when at self conscious teen age potentially... but I overthink things!

MikeUniformMike · 06/04/2020 10:09

Polly is lovely
Connie (Constance) in nice
Bonnie is too nicknamey and can be an euphemism for chubby

Magicbabywaves · 06/04/2020 10:16

Constance is one of my dd’s middle names and I quite often wish I’d used it as a first name.

dustyfrank · 06/04/2020 10:44

I love Connie, but I'm not overly keen on Polly or Bonnie.

LotusClover · 07/04/2020 18:17

I don't like any of your names, sorry. They sound like names for a doll rather than a person. Bonnie is by far the worst.

If you like Anna but can't use it, consider these:
Anya
Annabelle
Anastasia
Arianna
Or any other name that ends in -anna, such as Lianna, Rhianna, Rosanna etc.
