I really like Eric.
I'm set on the name Eric.
But just in case he comes into the world and he isn't an Eric, could I please have some suggestions of names that are of similar type and short and sweet.
I work in youth offending so I have associations with most common and popular names which are not all necessarily pleasant so be as out there as you like.

When I was at school an eric was an erection. You might want to check with a young person.

My dad was Eric. I love it!

No alternatives I'm afraid but just had to share!

tallah · 05/04/2020 06:51

Each to their own but I hate it, sorry! We don't all have to like each other's names tho so if you like it, go for it

balonzz · 05/04/2020 06:53

I love the name Erik, with a 'K'. A really lovely person who I know has this name.

Shitsgettingcrazy · 05/04/2020 06:59

My nephew has Eric as a middle name. Named after his mums relative. Said relative hated the name. Mum wanted it to be his first name, but had it as a middle name instead because the relative begged her not to.

Dont know why he dislikes it. I think its lovely.

HerondaleDucks · 05/04/2020 08:35

Thanks for the suggestions.
I'd already mentioned Otis to my husband before but he's not keen.
I hadn't considered Luke before that's good.

I did talk about Erik with a K but I worried he would need to explain the spelling all the time. Which could be annoying.

Eric is ace

Ellmau · 05/04/2020 11:37

I actually think Erik with a k is a bit more modern.

RuthW · 05/04/2020 13:13

Eric is lovely. Dd would have been Frederick, to be known as Eric but that was 23 years ago.

bridgetreilly · 05/04/2020 15:34

Erik with a k is Erik the Viking. I'd stick with Eric.

123Dancewithme · 05/04/2020 23:32

I really like Eric. With a c, definitely.
