Just polly?

Hi me and my husband are expecting a baby girl in about 3 and a half months and we almost certain we want her name to be Polly but we’re debating on having a longer name that she can use if she wants when she’s older, do you think we should and do you have any suggestions?

Could be shortened to "Polly" -

Gorgeous name ! I have a friend called Pollyanna , not sure how that sits with you? But just polly is gorgeous x

It's lovely on its own and feels like a name in its own right, although I know it's traditionally short for Mary
I like all your other choices too.
As Mike said, it makes me think of Leopoldina (Polly) Hampton from Nancy Mitford's books.

I would be so pleased if a child in my class was called Hippolyta! Wow. Then again if she was a bit chunky it could be unfortunate

I like it short for Apolline or Apollonia. They might be a bit much though!

I'm sticking to what I said on your last thread - Polly Maria is gorgeous.

I have a 10 year old Polly and she likes her name because she's the only one she knows. She likes to be different and stand out. It suited her as a baby but is also grown up enough for a teen and adult in my opinion. Cutesy but not.

Polly is perfect on its own. I love it!

Polly was a nickname for Mary back in the day and Mary is where it came from.
Maria obviously is Mary
So it is kind of Mary Mary. However, the number of people who would know that is slim I imagine
