Love it

Aurorie11 · 02/04/2020 14:34

It reminds me too much of Iago from the Merchant of Venice, so it's a no from me

LizzieAnt · 02/04/2020 15:10

I like it a lot.

whitesoxx · 02/04/2020 15:11

Much prefer James. You could nickname him Jago

bridgetreilly · 02/04/2020 15:27

I think it's fine if you're Cornish and pretentious if you aren't.

catlifeisthelifeforme · 02/04/2020 15:30

Not Cornish but it does hold a very special place in our hearts and we have lots of memories there.

I love it

HaveAtEm · 02/04/2020 15:32

Honestly...no 🤷‍♀️

Coffeenofilter · 02/04/2020 15:32

Love the name Jago. And I know one with no cornish connections. It was on my list until it broke one of my rules (I don't like to give any of my kids the same first initial, and I've already used a J name).

I say use it!

paintcolourwoes · 02/04/2020 15:33

It’s a nice name if you’re Cornish, and is pronounced ‘Jaygo’ but if you’re not and live somewhere else I suspect you’ll forever have people pronouncing it with a silent J

zigaziga · 02/04/2020 15:35

I love it but the first time I saw it written down (a friend of a friend used the name) I did think it was Yay-go Blush

zigaziga · 02/04/2020 15:35

Now I know how it pronounced I think it’s an awesome name.

pinkpeoniesplease · 02/04/2020 15:38

I like it and considered it but couldn't risk the nickname 'Jay'...

ProperVexed · 02/04/2020 15:40

Love it.

Flymetothestars · 02/04/2020 15:46

I really like it
What are your other choices @catlifeisthelifeforme

catlifeisthelifeforme · 02/04/2020 15:47

@flymetothestars the other I like is Rudy but DH doesn't

Horrible harsh sounding name to me. Reminds me of jagged.

MikeUniformMike · 02/04/2020 15:51

A bit trendy, sorry. Jacob is better.

CalmerViolet · 02/04/2020 16:15

I’ve always loved Jago.
Didn’t know til now that it is Cornish. There are some great Cornish names.
Always assumed the J is pronounced.

Cbeebiesrehab · 02/04/2020 16:42

Love it and would use it if I had another boy.

soupforbrains · 02/04/2020 16:44

My cousin has a Jago. I like it as a name and her husband is Cornish.

However you need to be prepared for people to mispronounce it constantly. Yah-go, Yay-go and eeah-go are all said before people land on Jay-go as its supposed to be.

eyeblob · 02/04/2020 16:46

Love it (I live in Cornwall and know a few)

tegucigalpa13 · 02/04/2020 16:47

I think it only works if you are posh and cornish.

Zagazooo · 02/04/2020 17:08

Really love it! It was on our list but having a girl this time.

PlantPotting · 02/04/2020 17:57

Absolutely LOVE Rudi/Rudy @catlifeisthelifeforme
