My husband and I love 4 names and keep combining them in different configurations. We want to announce with her name but would love some feedback.

Aerilyn McKenna
Everly Kate
Everly McKenna
(Pronounced Air-uh-lynn)

I like Everly Kate the best xx

MikeUniformMike · 01/04/2020 18:33

Call her Kate, it's lovely.

Aerilyn seems made up and Everly is a surname.

DramaAlpaca · 01/04/2020 18:35

I agree with Mike.

But of the four options, Everly Kate.

VenusClapTrap · 01/04/2020 19:34

I like Kate.

Windyatthebeach · 01/04/2020 19:35

Aero for short??
Everley is lovely..

Bluesponge · 01/04/2020 19:44

Everly is very pretty I like Everly Kate the best

Spied · 01/04/2020 19:46

Everly Kate is by far the best of your four...but I do prefer Kate alone.

MikeUniformMike · 01/04/2020 19:55

Everly sounds too similar to Beverley.

NuffSaidSam · 01/04/2020 20:07

Kate is by far the nicest of those names.

I think Everly Kate of those choices.

Whatsyourflava · 01/04/2020 20:07

I love Everly

mathanxiety · 01/04/2020 20:27

Aerilyn isn't great, imo.
I live in the US and I can see this being the next step for people who like the name Ireland but want something 'unique'.

Everly Kate or Kate Everly would be my choice here.

McKenna is nice as a middle name for Everly too.

mathanxiety · 01/04/2020 20:28

Or if you really love Aerilyn, how about Everly Aerilyn?

villamariavintrapp · 01/04/2020 21:22

Love Kate. Don't like Aerilyn. Looks like eerily written, but doesn't have those sounds, weird.

diddlediddle · 01/04/2020 21:24

@MikeUniformMike has nailed it

GingerK1989 · 01/04/2020 22:28

Thank you so much for your honest thoughts. Aerilyn was derived from our families both having members named Carolyn. But we wanted to make it our own. It doesn't help that I'm an educator working with small children. So many names have been "ruined" for me because I have a definitive schema for that name matching that child. I think it's why I'm drawn to names that aren't well known or popular. But thank you so much for your opinions and feedback!

Are you American OP?

Saladfingers95 · 01/04/2020 22:33

I'm another to agree with @MikeUniformMike

MikeUniformMike · 01/04/2020 23:13

How about Amberlyn?

It's a bit like Carolyn and would shorten to Amber, which is pretty.

GingerK1989 · 02/04/2020 01:01

I am American. Amberlyn is lovely!

mathanxiety · 02/04/2020 04:57

Amberlyn is too like Anne Boleyn. And it's very Wonder Bread and mayonnaise.

Everly has a nice early rock n roll vibe to it (the Everly Brothers). It does rhyme with Beverly but even that has a very current midcentury feel to it.

mathanxiety · 02/04/2020 04:58

Amber is a name that loses a lot of its cachet en route westwards across the Atlantic.

Joans3rddaughter · 02/04/2020 05:00

Please do not give your child a name she will spend a lifetime repeating and having to spell for people.

Astronica · 02/04/2020 05:50

Lyn ending names are very popular in the US and not generally seen so positively elsewhere. I don't like Aerilyn. Kate as a first name is wonderful.
Out of your options, Everly Kate.

sibbys · 02/04/2020 06:27

Everly Kate

peachypetite · 02/04/2020 06:46

Aerilyn is awful sorry.
Everly Kate is the best of those options
