What name do you prefer and why? Thank you so much!

Oliver is lovely,
Not keen on Hugo.
Think Oliver is a classic name that never goes out of fashion.

Jasharps · 29/03/2020 21:30

Oliver definitely

Diorissimo1985 · 29/03/2020 21:52

Prefer Oliver but it is very commonplace - although not necessarily a bad thing?

midsomermurderess · 29/03/2020 21:52

Hugo, although I actually prefer Hugh.

NuffSaidSam · 29/03/2020 21:53

I think Hugo.

I used to love Oliver, but it's too popular now.

twattymctwattwat · 29/03/2020 22:05

Hugo. Love, love love it!

I don't dislike Oliver but there's endless Oliver's around here and Hugo definitely stands out more for all the right reasons, in my opinion Grin

GetTheSprinkles · 29/03/2020 22:06

Hugo is so cute. IMO it's quite a bit posher than Oliver.
This is going to sound silly but I was put off by the name Oliver when naming my DS as it had the word liver in itBlush

Callingyounique · 29/03/2020 22:06

Hugo

Ginandplatonic · 29/03/2020 22:09

Hugo. I actually like them both, but there are SOOO many Olivers around here. Quite a few Hugos too, but far fewer.

Direduldrums · 29/03/2020 22:16

I have a Hugo, he’s 4 and he’s so lush so I’m biased. But definitely Hugo. It seems every other boy I know is called Oliver.

SaltedCaramelEverything · 29/03/2020 22:18

@GetTheSprinkles I never spotted that. Now I can’t unsee it 😂

Hugo was going to get my vote anyway

EasyTarget · 29/03/2020 22:18

Hugo. Oliver is lovely but very popular.

Mamato2gorgeousboys · 29/03/2020 22:20

Hugo! It’s lovely and not overly popular. Every other child where I live is Oliver or Ollie. It is a nice name, just a bit too popular imo.

20viona · 29/03/2020 22:20

Oliver is nice but common: I prefer Hugo.

AJTracey · 29/03/2020 22:21

Hugo

purplerainn · 29/03/2020 22:21

I would say Hugo. Oliver is massively popular where I am from, I have noticed Hugo becoming more popular but nowhere near as much as Oliver.

EtonianMother · 29/03/2020 22:21

Hugo. No particular reason, though.

NemophilistRebel · 29/03/2020 22:22

I love Hugo

123Dancewithme · 29/03/2020 23:57

Hugo

Astronica · 30/03/2020 00:29

Both great names but I prefer Hugo. I like the o ending, and that it is a bit less used than Oliver. Also not keen on Ollie nn.

StarsThatTwinkle · 30/03/2020 00:35

Hugo, more original than Oliver and it would instantly be Ollie or Ol or Olls anyway.

Peachbubble · 30/03/2020 07:32

Hugo

Whatsyourflava · 30/03/2020 08:15

Love love love both. Slight preference Oliver

sibbys · 30/03/2020 11:07

Hugo. So bored of Oliver.
