How many Leos do you know?

Love Leo but slightly put off by the fact it’s seemingly very popular (although I don’t know any). How many (child) Leos do you know?

The others on our shortlist are Jonah, Joah and Gabriel. Which is your favourite from the four? Thanks.

DS’s best friend at nursery is called Leo, he is the only one we know of though.

I like Leo or Gabriel best out of the four.

TobyeBella · 29/03/2020 20:19

I know of one Leo, nearly 4.

It's my favourite out of the four you've short listed.

MrsSiba · 29/03/2020 20:20

I know 2. Gabriel is lovely, shortens beautifully to Gabe x

mrsed1987 · 29/03/2020 20:20

I know 2. I like jonah

Wigeon · 29/03/2020 20:29

My sister has just had a Leo, but he’s the only one I know. It’s the 8th most popular boys’ name.

PaulinePetrovaPosey · 29/03/2020 20:30

Excellent names. I love Gabriel and Leo from your list, and I don't know any children with either name.

goldenorbspider · 29/03/2020 20:33

I love your name choices op! I've got a Leo myself. There's another in his nursery class and a friend of mine also has one.

Bubbletrouble43 · 29/03/2020 20:34

I know one, neighbours son, about 12 years old. I went to school with one about 30 years ago, he'd be about 45. That's all. Great name.

I know 1. You should look at baby name statistics for your area. The ONS publishes them. Some names will be popular in some areas but not others.

I love Leo so I'd go for it. I like Jonah too.
I've never heard of Joah, was it a typo?
Not a fan of Gabriel.

MsChatterbox · 29/03/2020 20:48

I know one, a newborn. Leo is my favourite of the 4.

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 29/03/2020 20:58

I know 3 Leos, one Gabe and one Jonah. That's in a small-ish Welsh town...

s3tut0y3r · 29/03/2020 20:58

I know none. It's a decent name. If something is holding you back have you considered Leon?

PerditaNitt · 29/03/2020 21:00

My 20 month old has Leo has a middle name. I don’t know of any others, so not that popular in my area (north west London)

allaboardthesinkingship · 29/03/2020 21:01

Prob about 5. It's abit of a nothing name to me. Gabriel is much nicer IMo

Blursula · 29/03/2020 21:04

Thanks all! @NameChange30 no it’s not a typo, just a very uncommon biblical name. I love it but worry it’s a bit ‘out there.’

I know lots of Leos as a teacher, but they have all been delightful, so it's a good name! I love Jonah, only know one and he's one of the loveliest children I've ever taught.

Thegreymethod · 29/03/2020 21:05

One and he's mine so I obviously love it 😊

Chlandy · 29/03/2020 21:54

I know of 3 Leo's aged between 2-4! It is a very cute name tho x

Paddingtonthebear · 29/03/2020 21:57

Personally I know 3. Via work there are 9 more.

BorrestGump · 29/03/2020 21:59

I knew two Leo's who died (of old age) in the last year. I know another who is 84, and one who is in his early 70's and one who is c.50 years old. I don't think I know any younger. I am in Ireland where it is a saints name and not popular amongst young children.

JohnnyMcGrathSaysFuckOff · 29/03/2020 22:01

2 Leos. Really like Gabriel. Joah is cool too although he would be getting do-you-mean-Jonah every time he told someone his name.

StormCiara · 29/03/2020 22:02

Two and they are both absolute tossers, sorry! Spoiled princes who can’t talk to women like they’re actually people. It’s weird that they’re so similar at they’re hundreds of miles and a generation apart.

StormCiara · 29/03/2020 22:03

Leos that is

NameChange30 · 29/03/2020 22:05

I think Joah might get misheard as Noah (assuming they're pronounced the same) or misread as Jonah.
