Help with Boys' Names

LooseyGoosey · 23/03/2020 15:45

Hello!

Please help, we're really struggling with names for boys. We have pretty much decided on two full names for girls:

Elspeth Daphne
Josephine Robyn

We don't have loads of criteria, but we're looking for boys names that are uncommon (ideally not in the top 100), but known and reasonably straight-forward to spell and pronounce. We did like

Rory Ellis
Max Benjamin

but both Rory and Max are quite popular at the moment. Our surname begins with W and has one syllable.

Any help much appreciated!

Both suggested Justin @Aquamarine1029 - never ever met anyone called Justin in my life. Don’t think it’s used anymore at all

I like both your suggestions.

Try them with the surname. If your surname is Wolfe, Rory might not go (roary).
If your surname is something that you could measure (Wall, Wood), Max might be a bit like Max Headroom.

Thanks all! Some lovely suggestions!

Front runners now are:

Ellis Bernard
Otis Harry

...thoughts?

No to both sorry.

Ellis is ok. Bernard maybe.
I don't like Otis at all.Harry is ok but an odd middle name.

Bernard Ellis and Harry Otis flow better.

Your previous choices were much better.

Edwin
Owen
Quentin
Benedict

Aquamarine1029 · 24/03/2020 15:27

No to both. So very different from your original choices.

emmathedilemma · 24/03/2020 17:13

I think when you don’t include a middle name Rory followed by a surname beginning with W could be quite hard to say!
