Can’t decide on a baby name for my 2 week old son HELP

So my baby boy is 2 weeks old today and I still haven’t decided on a name for him. I feel so awful referring to him as “the baby” all the time! 😖

My shortlist is:

Azai - which I love as it means strength and it’s very unique but it just doesn’t really suit him.

Zac - (short for Zachary) which does suit him, but I just don’t love the name and feel like it’s a bit common. I know 3 Zac’s already.
Cruz - also suits him but sounds a bit made up with no real meaning. Again I’m not entirely sold.

I really want a name that is unique/unusual. Something different like Axl, but his brother on his dads side already has this name.

If anyone has any suggestions they’d be greatly appreciated! 😬

Acer or Asa?
I know an Asa and they pronounce it Ace which is cool

Albion?

I really like Zac!

CaramelWaferAndTea · 21/03/2020 16:23

I liked Zac but also Nathaniel (Nate) and Theo.

BrizzleMaverick · 21/03/2020 16:24

If I had a third (looking less likely now) and it was a boy then I would choose Zachary.

I think it's a great name!

AnneJeanne · 21/03/2020 16:24

Definitely Zac.

YeahRiiiiight · 21/03/2020 16:25

Cruz is Spanish for cross/crucifix isn’t it?

I like Zac best, but it’s not unusual if that’s what you’re after...

Thank you all for your suggestions! I knew Zac would be the main contender! Everyone I’ve spoken to so far loves Zac as well. I’m not sure why it hasn’t stuck with me as I’ve always loved the name 😖 I should mention my eldest is called Noah..

Love Theo and Ace. Max was also an option, along with Harry but just felt these names were very common..

If you want an uncommon rather than unusual name, why not go for something that has fallen out of use these days. What about Dominic or Stephen

HowIrresponsible · 21/03/2020 18:21

Not Cruz - means Jesus' cross

And also Cruz Beckham

I really like Zac. It's cool. Doesn't matter that it is popular if you like it.

If you really like Azai why not just do it. He is 2 weeks old, he may not suit it now (but does a newborn suit any name?) But when he grows it will just be his name and he will have a name you love.

HowIrresponsible · 21/03/2020 18:22

@s3tut0y3r oh yes.

Or Mark
Robert
Christopher

Ayrton (associated with a Brazilian F1 driver of course but it’s actually an old Scottish surname).
