TypicalMeBreakMyTypicalRules · 13/03/2020 18:09

I love it personally

lulufufu · 13/03/2020 18:48

I like it!

OhLook · 13/03/2020 18:51

How about Chardonnay or Nevaeh?

mrscatalano · 13/03/2020 19:11

Sounds really 80s and dated. Reminds me mostly of the singer, eastenders and the actress from Saved By The Bell.
Definitely wouldn't think of the shop or the film.

Love51 · 13/03/2020 19:14

I love it. There was a really cool girl in the year above me called Tiffany.

OhCaptain · 13/03/2020 19:23

Not for me. Bit 90s and er...I don’t know how to word it!

Just, not for me.

But if you like it who cares what strangers think?

emmathedilemma · 13/03/2020 19:55

Dated chav

TheWordmeister · 13/03/2020 19:58

Terrible.

ChristmasFlint · 13/03/2020 19:59

The only Tiffany I know is definitely not a chav and absolutely fabulous. I don't love the name in itself but the one Tiffany I know has made me like it.

percheron67 · 13/03/2020 20:05

So outdated. Also "Tiff" is really grim.

Windyatthebeach · 13/03/2020 20:15

I have one. Never ever Tiff.
And isn't Tiffany's a high end jewellers?
Not like calling ya dc Argos is it?

hvnc · 13/03/2020 20:19

I dislike the word 'chavvy' but that does spring to mind.

I feel like Vicky Pollard would have a best mate called Tiffany, Tiff for short.

I wouldn't use it.

123Dancewithme · 13/03/2020 20:57

It was originally a medieval name, but now it does have an 80s feel.

SD1978 · 13/03/2020 21:06

Dislike the name. As others have said it's quite a 'dated' name, and does have some negative connotations attached to it due to portrayal and use. But like them all- you want it, use it.

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 13/03/2020 21:11

@Mygoldring - it makes me think of the heroine of a series of books by Terry Pratchett, starting with Wee Free Men. Tiffany Aching is a young witch, who wallops a monster with an iron frying pan - and that is just the start. She is awesome and a great example to young women.

DrowsyDragon · 13/03/2020 21:25

HVing recently found out Tiffany is a medieval variation on the Greek name Theophanu, I suddenly think Tiffany is a really interesting choice. Sure eighties but it’s got a huge history. Plus Terry Pratchett.

Bouncingbelle · 13/03/2020 21:39

Bit too 80s for me.

Bunnylady54 · 13/03/2020 22:58

I immediately thought of Eastenders but I don’t hate the name. And I love the lamps!

Hugsandpastries · 13/03/2020 23:44

I know a baby Tiffany, I think it’s really cute. Makes me think of the witch heroine from the Terry Pratchett stories too. Not so keen on it when shortened to Tiff.

Tartyflette · 13/03/2020 23:47

Porn star name. Sorry.

elizabethdraper · 13/03/2020 23:48

Common as muck

Horsefeather · 13/03/2020 23:52

I’d circumvent the dreadful 80s associations, go back to the early root and go with Theophania. I met a Theodosia recently, also. Usually goes by Theo.

IVflytrap · 14/03/2020 01:17

Yeah, Tiffany is a very old name, a medieval version of Theophania, via French. Which makes it even more dated than the 80s. Grin

An alternative version, also from the middle ages, is Tiphaine. Which I think is lovely.

Thepigeonsarecoming · 14/03/2020 01:25

It’s an awful name, sadly because of tv characters. Theo is lovely though

happymummy12345 · 14/03/2020 02:14

@MikeUniformMike the queen vic barmaid is Tracey, Bianca's daughter is Tiffany.
I don't like myself but it's not my child or choice.
