Middle names to go with Lyla. I'm liking Lyla grace but please suggest others. Also spelt lyla or lila pronounced lie-la

You need a stronger middle name than Grace, nice though it is as as first name, to counteract Lyla. Similarly, names like Rose etc, just make it all so bland. I’d go for three syllables, with some weight, and consonants. Alexandra. Elizabeth. Catherine.

I love Lyla and wanted it for dd but dh got his way with her name.

We almost named our daughter Lyla/Lilah, but changed our minds to a variation of that when we saw her.
(I didn't know this until later), but just be cautious of the spelling with an I as some people mispronounce it. We found pairing it with a classic name sounded nice.
I think Lyla Grace is really lovely.
Lyla Belle is really pretty too.
Lyla Eve
Lyla Rose

Forgot one:
Lyla Catherine

I think that goes really well.

It sounds a bit like baby talk to my ear, short for Delilah or something like that. It wouldn’t be my choice, but I do like Lyra which is literally only a letter away, so I don’t know why Lyla doesn’t sound good to me. Maybe the repeated L sound.

DramaAlpaca · 07/03/2020 17:20

I like Lyla. That spelling for the pronunciation you want.

For a middle name, I'd go either one syllable and simple, or a long name.

I like Lyla Kate or Lyla Catherine.
