So baby boy is due any day and I thought we had settled on Arthur but I’m still not 100% sure it’s one. Want to make sure I’ve explored all the possible options so when we meet him we can try a few out! Names I like but can’t use for various reasons are:
Joseph
Adam
Edward
Isaac
Samuel
Henry.
Thanks!

@Whatsyourflava I love it too! It’s just since I’ve decided on it and I’ve heard of so many little Arthurs being born which isn’t necessarily a negative but it’s made it feel less like ‘our’ name if that makes sense? I love Barnaby but DH has vetoed.
I also love Benjamin @onlyfoolsandmothers so that will also be one we trial!

Yes I do understand OP. Although I’ve not actually met one yet but I appreciate it’s getting more popular. Although some will go by different nicknames and others the full name - Art/Artie/Arthur

What I would say is that once you have a name in mind you tend to notice babies with that name so it stands out more than it should (if that makes sense). Now you’re testing out Benjamin you might notice quite a few and also you find friends mention it “oh I’ve got a friend of a friend who has an Arthur/Benjamin” , so it starts to feel as if every baby in the world has that particular name.

Will think of some other suggestions too though

Our 2.5 year old is Arthur and I still love the name. It suits him so much and options to shorten it. I like it so much I’m struggling for a name for his future brother!

blondie87 · 28/02/2020 07:19

It is a fab name @chefwifelife! It’s definitely still a contender.

I just love Arthur. I know it’s more popular these days but there’s definitely a reason for that.

How about Caleb, Laurence, Arlo or Alexander?

I love arthur though

blondie87 · 28/02/2020 10:23

I love Laurence nn Laurie (big Little Women fab!) but sounds wrong with our surname @plantpotting

I love Arthur. That's the name I've chosen for my bub due in 9 weeks. It is popular, but not massively so in my opinion x

userabcname · 28/02/2020 12:20

If you love Arthur, use it! I also love Benjamin btw.

blondie87 · 09/03/2020 09:26

We had him and he’s definitely Arthur- I’m biased but he’s adorable 😍
