Some of you may have seen my previous post, but to keep you up to speed I'm DD is 3 months old and is called Naomi, for the past month as she has grown ect I have serious name regret for various reasons, and I am considering changing her name. I mentioned the name Charlotte to my partner but he isn't keen, but likes Annie and so do I. So my question is which do you prefer? Annie or Naomi x

What I would say is Annie and Naomi don’t sound that different. You might find you change it and wonder why you bothered? I actually don’t like the name Naomi though so I’m not sure where I’m going with this as I’m a but all over the place with advice

Pinkette06 · 21/02/2020 18:00

Annie.

Naomi, but you should change it if it really bothers you.

I prefer Annie personally, but they’re both absolutely gorgeous names and I’m sure your DD will be happy with either name you choose for her because they’re both lovely!x

Mamabear88 · 21/02/2020 18:21

I prefer Naomi

Trahira · 21/02/2020 18:22

Annie

Mollie3 · 21/02/2020 19:33

Personally I don’t like either as sound dated but love Anna which is timeless - could that be an option x

Blaccat · 21/02/2020 19:56

Niether are my taste but I would go with Naomi .
Annie grates with me. It's very cutsey and twee

IVflytrap · 21/02/2020 22:01

Naomi is pretty, elegant and more distinguished than Annie. Annie is cute for a little girl, but she is going to be an adult one day.

Astronica · 21/02/2020 23:00

I much prefer Annie. Sweet and appealing. Annie feels more timeless to me too as the Naomis I've known are all in 40s or older. The sounds of Naomi grate on me, though it's a perfectly acceptable name. But really, it's about your preference - Naomi just doesn't seem to have been the right choice. Try out any possible names over a week or so before making final decision.

Cbeebiesrehab · 21/02/2020 23:32

Annie is gorgeous. Don’t rush into the decision though, test the names out and go with which one feels right for you and your DH. Good luck :)

WildCherryBlossom · 22/02/2020 07:55

I love Naomi!

Wintersun13 · 22/02/2020 11:11

If you really regret it and your partner is onboard, change it. The opinions of internet strangers on the name you want to change it to don't matter.

That said make sure you really really are ok with Annie because you probably won't be able to change it a second time (I mean, you could, but at some point you're gonna have to pick something and stick to it).

So I'd try maybe calling the baby Annie for a few weeks before actually changing the birth certificate.

@Ironman140 I’ve sent you a dm

Poorolddaddypig · 23/02/2020 17:13

LOVE Annie! It’s vintage and sweet and sassy and tough and cool and cute all at once! Naomi is nice but I just adore Annie.

Frangelinajolie · 23/02/2020 18:03

Annie/Anne/Anna/Ana all beautiful names and could be short forms of Anastasia or Annelisa etc

pipilangstrumpfi · 23/02/2020 19:51

I prefer Charlotte.

Annie is a nickname for Anne, Annabel or Anastasia etc.
