Same as Emily - Em il ee

Pipandmum · 15/02/2020 18:02

Guess second syllable is an ee sound so Em-ee-lee

Yep same as Emily, there are a few Emilies in my class and it's always pronounced the same as Emily.

namechangin · 15/02/2020 18:15

I agree it's similar to Emily but I think I pronounce Emily as em-i-lee with no emphasis on any part of it whereas I'd put emphasis on the e for Emilie so Eh-mi-lee

youwereagoodcakeclyde · 15/02/2020 18:18

Emily but with a bit more e on the end, I’d be wanting to say it in a French accent but I’d hold back!

UnexpectedItemInTheShaggingAre · 15/02/2020 18:22

Just Emily was

Elouera · 15/02/2020 18:26

I'd just assume it was like Emily? Poor girl will be having to constantly spell it though Hmm

DramaAlpaca · 15/02/2020 18:55

Same as Emily. It's a variant spelling, but the same pronunciation.

Chaiwala · 15/02/2020 18:56

I think in English it’s emily.
French: em-mee-lee
And in other countries I think Scandinavian
Em-me-li-yeh

E-mee-lee-uh but I'm Danish 🙈

merryhouse · 15/02/2020 19:52

Depending on how swish I was feeling, it would be either Emily or Amelia Grin

Grufallosfriends · 16/02/2020 08:44

In English probably the same as Emily
In German Em ee li eh (4 syllables)
