Clover?

Searching for a name for Sylvie’s sister. Middle name will be Margaret or Marianne.

What does everyone think of Clover?

I don’t hate it but I much prefer Margaret as a lovely first name with nn Maggie or Peggy

I actually did consider the name Clover when I was hormonal and pregnant but husband told me “that’s a cow or butter” and wouldn’t even discuss the name further as he said it’s “completely ridiculous” 🤦‍♀️

I don’t like it. Also, get ready for the cow related comments.

Or margarine related comments.

I think it’s a beautiful name, if you love it then use it (... but i did have a pet rabbit called Clover as a child, so not an option for my baby name lists)!

I like Clover and the cow association wouldn't bother me at all.

The "spreads easily" thing might though, I can imagine that being tough as a teenage girl.

No from me. Like Daisy unless the child turns out very dainty it's a name to be saddled with.

I dont really understand the cow or margarine comments. Plenty of kids called Daisy or Flora! I think Clover is nice - it you can use other flower names like Daisy, Heather, Rose, I dont see why not Clover.

"Spreads easily" hasnt been a tagline for years. I dont think it will be an issue in 15 years time!

I think it is lovely. There are always comments about cows whenever Clover is mentioned but I really don't think it's an issue and it would be a shame if that put you off. There should be more Clovers in the world! It's got the word "love" in it, it's a flower, and Clover from What Katy Did was cool.

I don't see Daisy or Clover as particularly dainty names either. Not like Grace or Willow.

I'd like to think it would be forgotten as it's a horrible comment.

I love Clover. It gets the cow association but I think of luck like a 4-leaf clover. I love it but a lot of people dont care for it so its onr of those love it or really strongly dislike it mames which is something to consider.

My pairing fir it is Clover Viveca.

I would never have thought of that for a name, I think its lovely!

I think clover is very sweet and I didn’t think any of the above thoughts.
Other names I’ve heard recently that I think are lovely are sorrel and wren.

It is a name of a dairy company here, so for that reason it wouldn't be one that I would consider.

My first thought is it's a rabbits name in Watership down, think the rabbit in question gets eaten by a bird of prey...

I used to know a chap called Clovis which I thought was a nice name. I'm kinda on the fence with Clover, its a pet's name in my head but that probably because of the above!

I think it's really lovely. Nice with Sylvie too.
