I absolutely love this name, my fav so far. It means 'blessed' and 'happy one' and is found in the Bible.
It's not too unusual is it?

Thanks

I really like it :)

Kezmum14 · 11/02/2020 09:41

I don’t think it’s unusual at all. I love the name and wanted it for my 5th but have an Asa and thought another ‘A’ biblical name was pushing it.

Singingatmidnight · 11/02/2020 10:16

I really like it. Not so unusual these days.

stellabelle · 11/02/2020 10:20

There was a film last year. (UK title - Hitman Redemption). Very cool character.

Poppydaisies · 11/02/2020 11:51

Personally I find it very soft sounding and I don't like the potential nickname Ash (reminds me of cigarettes)

inthekitchensink · 11/02/2020 12:26

Lovely, reminds me of the ash tree, which is beautiful. Great choice

Disneydarlings · 11/02/2020 12:28

I knew a girl called Asha. Would you be using it for a boy or girl?

IVflytrap · 11/02/2020 12:29

I really like it it isn't massively popular, but certainly not too unusual. Easy to pronounce and spell, too. Smile

NaiceHamPlease · 11/02/2020 12:32

Love it.... And the song Brimful of Asha (showing my age).

Shookethtothecore · 11/02/2020 12:32

I think it’s one of those on the rise of that concerns you, I know 3 little ones around by me- I much prefer Asa but it’s not a bad name

Avelinebread · 11/02/2020 12:34

It's a US chain of Indian eateries. The fist friends who go 9n holiday to the US, Dubai etc will know that. When I hear Asha I think mmm makhni

Clangus00 · 11/02/2020 12:42

Asha for a girl Asher for a boy.
Lovely names.

Quizeerascal · 11/02/2020 12:55

I love it, Asa is a great name too as is Asha for a girl

EstebanTheMagnificent · 11/02/2020 12:56

Lovely. Very popular in Jewish communities IME.

Astronica · 11/02/2020 13:05

I'm not keen. And it seems fairly popular around me for both girls and boys so not that unusual.

SallyWD · 11/02/2020 13:10

I really like it. I only know one Asher who's about 40.

Poorolddaddypig · 11/02/2020 13:39

Asha for a girl and Asher for a boy are two totally different names from different cultures. As a Christian I like biblical Asher as a potential for our son; DH (as an Indian Hindu) liked Asha for a little girl. The fact that the two names sound the same is not an issue in my opinion as the names are both ‘proper’ names with a good strong background in their cultures.
