Boys Shortlist

Hi everyone!

We’re stuck between these four names:
Wesley
Oliver
Rory
Jasper

Middle name will be Shaun after my dad and surname is one syllable beginning with S.

Any advice greatly appreciated!

I love Oliver and Rory.
I want to like Jasper more than I do.
Unfortunately not a fan of Wesley.

Rory or Jasper

Jasper first choice. Rory 2nd. All okay names though.

Not Wesley. Jasper might sound a bit lispy with so many Ss in the middle and last names too.

Oliver is nice but popular, so I'd choose Rory.

Jasper is lovely

Jasper is nice in theory, but I can’t imagine choosing it for some reason

Rory is so difficult for people that struggle with their Rs.

And Oliver is so so overused. We know about 10 Olivers/Ollies!!

I love them all too. I am strangely drawn to Wesley which I wouldn't have thought I would be. Wesley Shaun is just lovely. But they all are. And so unaffected. Not a wezleeighh in sight

Wesley - I really don't like this at all.

Oliver - I like Oliver. I know some people think it's been too popular but that doesn't bother me.

Rory - I've never really liked this prefer Ruiri

Jasper - I feel like it should be a nice name but I just don't like it. Feels a bit wet and try hard.

Really like Rory or Jasper. Like Oliver but really not a fan of Wesley.

Rory and Jasper are my favourites. Which goes best with your surname Emthebaker?

Agree that Wesley is pretty rare. I just remember seeing Wes on love island last year and thinking “He’s fit. Shame about horrible name though” 🙈 to me the name sounds a bit like when some people say they’re off to the toilet to have a ‘waz’ or whatever. Just my opinion though!

Well Rory is DS1's name and Jasper was my first choice for DS2 if I had been allowed it! I do think they are quite different names though.
So my order would be
Rory
Jasper
Oliver
Wesley (don't like this)

Jasper for me.
I like Oliver too but it’s very popular.

Oliver or Wesley, but only Wesley if it sounds okay with the last name. All those s sounds might not sound good.

Jasper or Oliver

We have an Oliver and everyone & their dog told me I'd regret it far too popular. Have t met another one yet. On the other hand know tons of Rubens etc

I think Wesley is cute and you don't hear it often.

Less keen on Rory because I think some small kids struggle to pronounce it.

Jasper always sounds like a dog/cat name to me. Sorry!

Oliver is nice but there are thousands of them....

Wesley - Weak and wet.
Oliver - Lovely. It's popular for a reason.
Rory - It's okay. But just okay.
Jasper - Quite camp.
