Is this one a good one?

Reads like Brain to me and have always felt a bit freaked out by the name . The actual sound of it is ok - similar to Ryan

PattiPrice · 07/02/2020 22:41

I do not like it at all. It is plain and dull sounding to my ears.

However, do you like it? That’s all that matters once it isn’t too ‘unique’.

What are your other children’s names? If, for example, one is named David, then Brian suits. However if one is named Max or Eli, Brian is going to feel very hard done by.

Absolutepowercorrupts · 07/02/2020 22:43

I like Yoni better

winewolfhowls · 07/02/2020 22:48

He's not the messiah.

1066vegan · 07/02/2020 22:49

Really don't like it. Sorry.

dayowl · 07/02/2020 22:49

i really like it

kenandbarbie · 07/02/2020 23:01

Is your baby age 58?

pearl20 · 07/02/2020 23:40

Reminds me of an old man - I'm not a fan! Sorry. But, it's not my baby and no one else's either and whilst your only asking people's opinions, if you like it, then that's all that matters.

Tillygetsit · 07/02/2020 23:42

Yikes.

JollyGiraffe12 · 07/02/2020 23:42

I don’t really like it sorry

mrwalkensir · 07/02/2020 23:45

Brian Cant - one of the loveliest men on the planet. It's very avant garde for this generation , but bearing in mind David and Victoria Coren Mitchell and their daughter Barbara...I'd go for it if you like it

SalmonOfKnowledge · 07/02/2020 23:46

fatandshatteredfairy · 07/02/2020 23:52

@winewolfhowls he's a very naughty boy!

DramaAlpaca · 07/02/2020 23:55

Are you the same poster who's had a couple of threads about this name recently?

My answer is still the same, it's a no from me.

Grufallosfriends · 08/02/2020 08:17

Many still associate Brian with old men as many Brian's are still alive. It will eventually lose that association and come back in fashion, just as all the other old names have eg Arthur, Wilfred, Ethel.

I actually like the sound of Brian. It's strong and manly. Unlike lots of cutesy names eg Archie, Teddie etc

user1493494961 · 08/02/2020 11:41

The Brian I know has an allotment and is Chair of Neighbourhood Watch.

FizzyGreenWater · 08/02/2020 12:52

Really no - almost a joke name for someone boring/old fashioned/odd. If it is going to come back, we're not ready yet!

MikeUniformMike · 08/02/2020 14:06

Are there any 58 year old Brians? Nice enough name though.
I'm not keen on Bryan, and Ryan was overused a few years ago.

hels71 · 08/02/2020 17:49

DH is Brian. He is 62. We did not even consider it if our child had been a boy..

Topseyt · 08/02/2020 18:13

My DH is also a Brian. He is in his late fifties.

It is OK, but still not a name we would have considerrd using if we had had a boy (we had three girls instead).

thistimelastweek · 08/02/2020 18:15

Some oldie names have come back into fashion and sound great.
Just not Brian. Right up there with Derek

CorneliusBeefington · 09/02/2020 21:48

I actually liked Bryan, we went with Bryn instead though.

PlantPotting · 09/02/2020 22:31

I also think “BRAIN” 🧠

Loveislandlydia · 09/02/2020 23:03

He's not the messiah
This made me smile Grin
