Alice or Adeline?

Looking for some opinions on these 2.... I love them both but really want to pick something not too 'popular'. I like that Alice is more 'classic' as that's definitely my style, but it's i think it's number 23 in popularity and this bothers me.

I want something uncommon (as in not loads in the class) but that people won't do a double take when they hear. I would pronounce Adeline like Madeline without the M.

Thoughts? And do you think they will get more or less popular? Name berry thinks there's about to be a surge in Adelines due to the already popular Ada/Ava etc

I love Adeline - my Nan's sister was Adeline and I've always thought it to be a very pretty name.

I definitely prefer Alice but I know what you mean about the popularity thing, that would bother me too. I like Adeline too though so can't go wrong with either imo.

I think Adeline will definitely get more popular and may sound of the time soon. It's nice, but Alice is classic and as pp said getting less popular. I'd pick Alice. In reality once you get into the twenties on the list you may not meet another one very often.

I prefer Alice.

Adeline is nice, but you will get people pronouncing it differently, which might annoy you. I'd pronounce it so the -line bit is like in Caroline, so quite differently to you.

Adeline reminds me of the movie “age of adeline” which gives it a trendy feel.

Alice is simple and classic. Adeline is trendy (currently) and will get mispronounced and misspelt.

Much prefer Alice. It's a timeless classic.
Adeline a classic too but u do think there may be a surge and it could cause it to 'date'.

@DramaAlpaca haha I pronounce Madeline and Caroline with the same sound! You're right tho as people could use a 'leen' 'line' or 'lyn' sound

does anyone actually know a few baby alices or is it usually only one or two?

I love Alice but I'll warn you that all the ones I've known have been absolutely barking mad......in a nice way, but crazy!
I'm not even sure how you pronouce Adeline.

For all those saying Alice - the only thing putting me off is the possible popularity. If you heard it would you think "nice but popular/over done" or is it not yet in the Isla / Evie league? (Again not picking on any particular names - they are all lovely but sometimes when I hear it I think oh another one!)

Alice is used way less than Isla and Evie @bobbypinseverywhere - just look at the numbers

Alice is beautiful, really classic, Adeline isn't.

Alice is my clear favourite of those - I love it. And no, I don't find it overdone.
I dislike Adeline, but love Adelaide. Adeline is increasing in popularity and is very popular atm in US (along with lots of variations all in the US popular names lists: Adelynn, Adalyn etc) If you add all the spelling and pronunciation variations on Adeline/Adalyn it's more popular than if you just look at Adeline alone.
