Love this baby name, it’s not common in my location.

I pronounce it bee-anchor but I recently met a bianca, who in their accent (Dutch I think) it's bee-onka 🤷

MrsBertBibby · 08/02/2020 06:30

South East person here and Bianca absolutely rhymes with wanker.

Unless you're my son who watched far too much Pokemon and insists on Bee-ahrn-ca. Might as well just be running his nails down a blackboard.

GryffinDora · 08/02/2020 06:37

Beautiful name, lovely meaning, classic. Makes me think of Shakespeare

HeronLanyon · 08/02/2020 06:46

For an Italian woman I think it’s lovely. I think the name itself is pretty.
In U.K. I think EastEnders. Then I’d assume the parents were quite young (not sure why!). It’s a bit dated here (? Not sure about this.
Met a Dutch woman recently called this. It seemed so odd - she was older (50s) and very dark haired and for some reason I kept think how the name didn’t sit right on her - for me.
Think it a very particular name which in many contexts just isn’t ‘right’.
I actually like it in itself - think only in Italian context.

Another vote for Rickaaaaaay!

Shame - it's a great name in other ways. How about Blanca? In many ways she's the heroine of Orange is the New Black, although it's admittedly a weird journey to get there Wink

BookMeOnTheSudExpress · 08/02/2020 18:37

It rhymes with wanker here in Italy too.
It's not classy.

sibbys · 03/03/2020 21:41

I really hate it, sorry!

I also think Rickaaaaay.

And, related, that bloody awful padded metallic jacket she wore every day for years when she came back to the programme.

Vallderama · 05/03/2020 00:29

Plus, how does it rhyme with walker? I've been trying and all I'm doing is saying Bjork.

OwlBeThere · 05/03/2020 00:35

I think of the female mouse inThe rescuers which was my favourite film as a child. So i like it but I do think the EE connection will be on peoples minds,

MrsP2015 · 05/03/2020 00:46

Eastenders firstly...

Secondly it was the name of a cute little girl in the nursery when I was year 6 and suited her perfect.

Buttybach · 05/03/2020 00:48

Del Rio!

stretchytiger · 07/03/2020 03:10

I don't know Eastenders so I really like it!
One of my students is a Bianca and has Bibi as a nickname...

Rainbowqueeen · 07/03/2020 03:23

I love it

Don’t connect it with anyone or anything either

Classic, not common and won’t date

WanderingTrolley1 · 07/03/2020 03:43

I think cheap and tacky.

CuppaZa · 07/03/2020 03:45

Another one who instantly thinks of Rickaaaaay and wanker Blush
