Agh my mum keeps suggesting baby names!

Currently pregnant with DD2. I stupidly mentioned that we were struggling with a name.

That said, even when I was pregnant with DD1 (we didn’t find out the sex) we had two names picked for a boy and two names picked for a girl and she still kept suggesting names.

I don’t know why I’m finding it so annoying. The names she keeps picking are mainly Welsh (She isn’t Welsh she’s just obsessed with Wales ) and not my type at all.

Despite me saying to her last time we already had names picked out she still kept doing it so I don’t know I’m going to get her to stop doing it this time.

I don’t think she’s doing it to be helpful either. She’s just controlling and likes having an input

I sympathise. My mother told me she didn’t like the name we gave our DD (never share baby names til the baby is here!) and did things like phone me and say ‘I’ve heard this lovely really unusual girls name... Olivia’ literally most common name in the UK mum thanks for playing

Giving a fake name wouldn't be kind. I can imagine quite a few grans would go out and buy personalised items three months in advance of the birth, and then couldn't return them.

My mum did this, kept barraging me with names even though I had choices I was keeping to myself

The day our child was born, first grandchild, she phoned me and asked and I ALLOWED to know the name now' ... told her and she said 'WHAT! ..... what about Isabel? ... no mum we've chosen the name ... she then phoned my family to complain and try and bullly me into changing my child's name!!

Second child arrived 3 years later and she phoned for the name - told her and she said ok yes I approve of that name 🙄

She never said ' congratulations how are you both '.... thanks mum!

My MIL said our DS's name is a dogs name 🙄
