Hello! This is my first time posting but hoping for some help with baby girls name which I’m really struggling with and don’t have long to go! We’re looking for something strong and feminine, not too out there but not too 10 either. So far we’re thinking:

Eleanor nn Elle
Elodie
Evelyn
Imogen

Would love to hear any thoughts on those. Or any other suggestions. Thank you!

Loving Eleanor and Imogen

Both on my list but unfortunately don’t think husband will go for them... 👎

Mummyeyes · 01/02/2020 07:14

I love Elodie and Evelyn. I am a big fan of Eleanor too but maybe Nell for nn - Elle is very popular, along with Ellie and Ella by me is number one nn.

Elouera · 01/02/2020 07:14

From your list I like:
Imogen, then
Evelyn (could be Evie)
Eleanor (fairly common in women age 30's)
Elodie- simply because I'm unsure how its pronounced?

All feminine and classic type names.

bridgetreilly · 01/02/2020 09:14

Imogen and Evelyn are my favourites. I really don't like Elodie. I don't think it sounds strong at all, to me it is twee and girly.

Whatsyourflava · 01/02/2020 09:15

Imogen Evelyn or Elodie are all so GORGEOUS 🥰

Whatsyourflava · 01/02/2020 09:15

Personally I’d pick imogen x

MerryGrinch · 01/02/2020 09:49

I'd choose Imogen.

Ada
Frida

Ricekrispie22 · 01/02/2020 11:22

How about:
Eliza
Edith (nn Edie)
Emilia

stophuggingme · 01/02/2020 11:28

Love them all

Also love Inez, Imelda and Eilidh (provinces ay-Lee)

Marahute · 01/02/2020 11:36

Imogen is lovely, but very popular (which may not bother you).

I like Ilsa.

yellowallpaper · 01/02/2020 11:45

Like all of them

NoSauce · 01/02/2020 12:35

All nice apart from Evelyn.

Robs20 · 01/02/2020 12:44

I would pick Imogen but like all apart from Evelyn!

BatleyTownswomensGuild · 01/02/2020 13:11

I like all the choices on your list except Imogen. (I expect I'm in the minority here but can never understand why this name is so popular. It sounds like a fabric softener to me.)

Pigsmightfly212 · 01/02/2020 13:11

I like them all. Also like....
Elora
Eloise
Eliana
Aurelia
Alayna
Inaaya
Iona
Emmeline
Aveline
Adelina
Amelie
Emory

sel2223 · 01/02/2020 14:44

I love all your names OP, is elodie pronounced like melody?

user1493494961 · 01/02/2020 15:30

Eleanor or Imogen.

eomma · 01/02/2020 15:57

evelyn. i used to be eleanor and changed my name.

17caterpillars1mouse · 01/02/2020 20:35

Eleanor nn Elle - I like Eleanor, not so keen on Elle. I prefer Eleanore nn Norah

Elodie - not a fan

Evelyn - beautiful classic but Evie's are everywhere

Imogen - I like it in theory but met a 1 year old Imogen last week and it just didn't feel right

AlpacaGoodnight · 01/02/2020 21:12

Elodie

newtothis20 · 01/02/2020 21:24

Thanks so much for all the comments, really appreciate it. Although I just spoke again to DH and hes decides he doesn’t like Eleanor or Elodie but has suggested Isla or Eloise as options instead. So I think we’re now looking at:

Eloise
Evelyn
Isla
Imogen

I know Isla is very popular at the moment but I think I could get over that as we have a family connection to the name

OP posts:
stophuggingme · 01/02/2020 21:32

Eloise is a gorgeous name

Happyandglorious · 01/02/2020 22:46

Elodie. Love it

user1471453978 · 01/02/2020 22:59

I love the name Imogen. go for it xx

newtothis20 · 01/02/2020 23:37

Actually (mrs indecisive over here...) I think Isla has lost its shine for me as there are so many so may consider for a middle name instead. So shortlist now looks like:

Imogen
Eloise
Evelyn

I think I like all of those!
