Is Zadie a proper name? When looking it up you seem to get Zadie Smith who apparently changed her name from Sadie. I've always loved Sadie but I quite like Zadie too. Is it in the realms of made up names?

So would probably avoid on that basis.

I always think of it as a dog’s name as I’ve known two Alsatians called Sadie.

Zadie is fine. I prefer it to Sadie.

Zadie is nicer than Sadie, I can only ever see the word Sad in Sadie personally.

It’s still easy to say and pronounce so there’s nothing to trip up there either.

It's a made up name..but if you like it 🤷‍♀️
