I like leo and my husband likes Eli .

Thanks in advance x

They are both lovely names.
I prefer Leo; it is very popular if that bothers you.
If using Eli I would put Elijah on the birth certificate because Eli feels kind of unfinished.

Rachelhaydenberk1 · 29/01/2020 22:32

I like both! I think I would vote for Eli because Leo is very popular but I have always liked it. What would the middle name be?

DancerOnIce · 29/01/2020 22:33

I like Eli, but I too feel like it’s a nickname for Elijah or Elias

Whatsyourflava · 29/01/2020 22:34

I really really love both!!

Oh and for what it’s worth Eli is perfect on its own, I wouldn’t feel the need to pick a longer name

Rachelhaydenberk1 · 29/01/2020 22:35

Are you lengthening to Leonardo or Elijah? The names can each stand alone though. They are both very short and may seem unfinished to some but I think they are common enough that they dont necessarily need lengthening.

PixieDustt · 29/01/2020 22:37

I love Leo that was on the list for DS.
Eli is okay but I know an Eli and he is not a nice little boy (I know that sounds horrible) but he really isn't

FlamingoAndJohn · 29/01/2020 22:41

Both nice names but I lean more towards Eli.

I don’t know if it matters to you but I’m a teacher and we are falling over ourselves with both names. Very popular at the moment.

Whatsyourflava · 29/01/2020 23:11

Really? Eli is outside the top 100 and numbers currently falling year on year

Astronica · 29/01/2020 23:35

Easy one for me - I love Leo and dislike Eli.

ButterflyOfFreedom · 30/01/2020 06:39

Leo is my preference.

Peachbubble · 30/01/2020 06:41

Leo, but Eli a close second!

IVflytrap · 30/01/2020 06:54

I like them both, though currently slightly prefer Eli.

Eli is a full (biblical) name in its own right, not a shortening of another name.

NoSauce · 30/01/2020 07:45

Eli. Leo is nice though.

Traditionalwife · 30/01/2020 08:17

Like Elijah but not Eli and I love Leo but I'm biased as that's my nephews name.Flowers

NearLifeExperience · 30/01/2020 09:23

I love Eli! Leo not so much because it reminds me of Leo Sayer.
I am old though, to be fair.

Triantracks · 30/01/2020 09:43

Thanks everyone Smile nice to see there is positive feedback for both names.
I love Elijah by husband isn't so keen. I'm going to keep it in mind
Also love Elias but it is a bit of a tongue twister with our surname and seems a bit of a mouthful whereas the other names I feel flow better.

Thanks so much x

I love Elias! You could have that and shorten it to Eli. I really like Leo as well though.

What about Isaac? That was on my list along with Eli/Elias.

GemmaWild14 · 30/01/2020 13:24

Definitely Leo!

SilverySurfer · 30/01/2020 14:39

100% Leo

Mammyloveswine · 30/01/2020 17:45

I have an Eli but his birth certificate says Elijah...

I love it and it totally suits him!

Mammyloveswine · 30/01/2020 17:48

pontiouspilates · 30/01/2020 17:56

Love both, but prefer Eli. Especially as nn for Elijah.

MikeAlphaMike · 30/01/2020 18:09

Eli is a name in it's own right.

I prefer Leo, but Leo is very popular.
Leo will shorten to Lee, Eli to Eel.

BobbyBlueCat · 30/01/2020 18:21

Eli.

I don't like Leo at all.
