Other than the boxer I've never heard of another?

It sounds quite nice but would just remind me of the boxer

snugasapuginarug · 19/01/2020 22:59

Deadsouls- my friend had called her baby Evander and her MIL has expressed her displeasure of the name 😬 it's caused a bit of a stir!

I’ve never heard the name before (not heard of the boxer) but I quite like it; unusual but easy to spell/ pronounce.

snugasapuginarug · 19/01/2020 23:04

Mybear thank you 😊 I can't say I'm very keen on it but not my baby 🤷🏻‍♀️

It sounds like something out of Harry Potter.

I like Evan, but not Evander.

snugasapuginarug · 19/01/2020 23:09

I absolutely adore HP Drama, it does sound like Olivander! My friend is very "out there" and a bit of a hippy, she was always going to call her babies something a bit different. I'm not sure we'll be allowed to shorted to Evan though.

That's it, Ollivander! Grin

SleepWarrior · 20/01/2020 21:59

I rather like it (although not enough to use it myself). Just wait until he starts school, it'll get shortened then in all likelihood.

slipperywhensparticus · 20/01/2020 22:00

I like it actually and I didn't associate it with the boxer either

tweedler · 20/01/2020 22:02

I just thought of pomander.

I'm not keen

Potatobug · 20/01/2020 22:03

Beautiful name

Wheresthebiffer2 · 21/01/2020 20:51

how about Alexander

pregnantncnc · 22/01/2020 16:48

I like it.

I'd not heard of it before and it sounds fairly normal to me. That being said, we had a Lysander (and a few other unusually named babies) born into our NCT group recently so perhaps I've become used to slightly more "out there" names (which isn't helping us name our own son!).

Thislittlepiggywentto · 22/01/2020 16:49

I know one weirdly... and dislike it strongly!

LivingDeadGirlUK · 22/01/2020 16:50

Its a character name in Katherine Kerr's Devery series, think he was an elf. I like the name though :)

user1493494961 · 22/01/2020 20:59

The boxer.

bridgetreilly · 22/01/2020 21:52

Holyfield.

I don't like it.

AlpacaGoodnight · 24/01/2020 19:10

I like it!

emilybrontescorsett · 24/01/2020 21:31

The boxer for me too.
Didn't he get his ear bitten off by Mike Tyson?
