I love the name Alex but something's stopping me from using it I think because there's so many of them I like Aled and Alec so I think I like the Al.. But none are grabbing me and now I'm stuck! Any ideas please?

Is Alex common these days? When I was at school it was (I'm 34) but I don't meet any young Alex's

doritosdip · 19/01/2020 16:51

I know an Alex who's known as Lex

Dexter (Dex)
Rex

Is Alex that common?

mytypeonpaper · 19/01/2020 17:06

I dont know I thought Alex was pretty common. It just sounds boring but I really like it 😂🤷🏽‍♀️ thanks for the suggestions none are really leaping out at me 😭

I don’t think it is that common.

Not compared to Jack, Oscar, Theo, Charlie

Pippilangstrumpfi · 19/01/2020 17:20

I do know lots of girls and boys called Alex.

How about Alistair?

WendyMoiraAngelaDarling · 19/01/2020 17:24

Just use it. I know ONE Alex out of the many children I know. I like it too.

RubyViolet · 19/01/2020 17:37

Hugo.

I've got an Alex and there were 7 in his class (South Manchester - I blame Alex Fergusson). He's Alex, after Alexander the Great.. so if I'd had the other two boys I was planning they'd have been Frederick (Freddie) and Peter.

The only Alex I know is DS1
He's 11. Never met another and I'm a nursery nurse!

Tillygetsit · 31/01/2020 23:28
