Opinions on these names and any other ideas that run along the same theme?
These are the top 4 my husband and I agree on, his order of preference is

  1. Renée
  2. Esme
  3. Heidi
  4. Nina

Mine is

  1. Nina
  2. Renée and Heidi joint
3.
  1. Esme

Not sure if we are having a boy or girl but girls names are much more difficult to choose!

Thanks

Completely agree with your order, all lovely names but Esme very popular round here.

BecauseReasons · 18/01/2020 21:46

I like Heidi.

pilates · 18/01/2020 21:48

Only like Esme

missmouse101 · 18/01/2020 21:50

Heidi

misspiggy19 · 18/01/2020 21:50

Nina

MrsTerryPratchett · 18/01/2020 21:51

Esme love it

RaspberryIsMyNameToo · 18/01/2020 21:53

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Nina

Leahd89 · 18/01/2020 21:54

Ooh ok interesting opinions so far, 3 for Nina, 2 Esme and 2 Heidi. I was contemplating Renée as a name we could both agree on but not sure now as no one has voted for it!

Also with regards to popularity, in order where we live would be

  1. Heidi
  2. Nina
  3. Esme
  4. Renée

Although none so popular I wouldn't use them

Love Nina! Not really a fan of any of the others... One of them in particular is the name of a very spoiled tantrumy kid that I know, so that definitely puts me off!

Whatsyourflava · 18/01/2020 22:10

Love either Esme or Nina

Sorry not Renee it just sounds like Rennie and is also similar to a name I much prefer, Wren!

yikesanotherbooboo · 18/01/2020 22:10

Nina and Heidi are lovely names and to my mind fairly timeless. I also like Esme but it feels to have tipped into that popular place that taunts it a bit. I'm not fond of Renee

daisypond · 18/01/2020 22:12

Nina hands down.
Never Esme.

Butterfly005 · 18/01/2020 22:12

Wow I like them all a lot! Probably like Heidi most, then Esme, then Renee, then Nina.

Whatsyourflava · 18/01/2020 22:12

Also id feel uncomfortable picking Renee if I didn’t have any French connections - like I was trying to sound exotic when I’m not! That’s just me though

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 18/01/2020 22:13

I'm not fussed on Renee.
Love Heidi and Nina.
It depends on how Esme is pronounced. I love Ezmay but Ezmee goes right through me

DramaAlpaca · 18/01/2020 22:13

Nina is the best of the bunch. It's a bit insubtantial and not very strong, but I do like that it has an international feel.

Esme is OK as long as it's the EZ-mee pronunciation. I don't like EZ-may.

Renée. Just no. Very granny and not in a good way.

Heidi just makes me cringe, it's so tooth-achingly twee. Horrible name. Sorry, I know that's not a popular opinion. It's very popular on here for some inexplicable reason

user1493494961 · 18/01/2020 22:14

Only like Esme.

YourEggnogIsBetterThanMine · 18/01/2020 22:16

How about Renesmee Wink

abitoflight · 18/01/2020 22:17

Nina

NoSquirrels · 18/01/2020 22:18

Nina.

Just that. So lovely. Am not a fan of the others much.

Doilooklikeatourist · 18/01/2020 22:19

Nina

Long way down
Heidi
Esme
Renee

CandyApple1995 · 18/01/2020 22:22

I wanted to call my youngest Renèe but her dad wasn't keen. I absolutely LOVE it! I've never came across anyone with that name IRL, I love how it's classy yet unique x

NoSquirrels · 18/01/2020 22:23

You obviously favour 2-syllable names so do any if these grab you?

Alba
Anna
Emma
Erin
Etta
Freya
Hester
Lois
Thea
Zoe

ironicname · 18/01/2020 22:23

Nina is just gorgeous.
