Opinions please

Hello, me and my husband are keeping the sex of our baby a surprise but have shortlisted a few names which I'd like opinions on please! So for a girl we have either Polly or Elodie and for a boy we have Isaac or Ivo (pronounced eye-vo) thanks

Polly is absolutely gorgeous. I love it! I’m not mad for Elodie though.
I think life as Ivo would be tough as he would be constantly explaining how to pronounce it. What about Ivan? Similar sound but more widely recognised. Issac is lovely too.

I like all of them! Think I like Polly and Elodie equally, they're so different I cant decide which I prefer.

I love Isaac so would choose that over Ivo personally but Ivo sounds very cool, I dont think I've heard it before.

The only one I don’t really like is Elodie! Great names. I’d choose Polly and Ivo, personally. Isaac is lovely too, though.

Polly is a parrot's name to me (sorry)

Elodie is beautiful when said in a French accent.

But with some of the accents of the UK accents, not so much...

Try it yourself in RP, Estuary, Manchester, Birmingham, Black Country, Liverpool, Newcastle, Cornish, Edinburgh, Welsh etc. and see if you still like it as much.

Elodie and Isaac are my favourites!! Two very special gorgeous names

@ParsleyPot OP would also have to try Polly in all those accents too to make it fair! I much prefer Elodie (and have always preferred Holly to Polly myself)

Thanks guys! I should have said my husband is French hence the names Ivo and Elodie. Ivo was a French saint

Love all them but if I had to choose I'd probably go for Elodie. My nephew is Isaac so I'm biased but I also love ivo. Also like Ivor and Ivah

For the pronunciation you want, would Ivor not work better?

Love both Polly and Elodie. My first boyfriend was called Ivo. He was Dutch and it was pronounced Eevo rather than eye-vo so I'd be concerned about pronunciation. Lovely name otherwise and a lovely person too.

Not keen on Polly, Elodie's OK. Really like Ivo, can't see how pronunciation would be difficult. Ivor is awful, really dated.

Because ivor is pronounced eye vor, the pronunciation op wants, and ivo Is pronounced EE voh, not what op wants...

The Ivo in dd1's class is pronounced Eye-vo. Never had any problems. Easy to spell too. Love both your boy's names OP and prefer Polly to Elodie.
