Middle name help

We have decided on Imogen for dd due next month, but are struggling to come up with a middle name we love.

Were not going down the naming after family route, just want a name that works well.

So far we have

Eve
Beatrix
Ferne
Astrid
Kate

but for some reason haven't committed to any of them yet.

Surname name starts with L (so no middle names starting with L to avoid initials ILL), and is 1 syllable.

Which of the above do you prefer, or any other suggestions?

Thanks all. A fairly even spread between Eve, Ferne and Beatrix then - probably why were struggling to choose!

I had suggested both Zara and Phoebe to dh RiceKrispie22 but he didn't like them. I do quite like Martha too, and Violet.

Are you planning another child (or even if you are not, one might materialise?) I love both Astrid and Beatrix but both sound like first name material and wondered if they were runners up to Imogen. If so, don't waste a name you would hypothetically call another daughter on a middle name! A friend of mine did that and really regretted it.

No plans for any more after this one, it would be very much a surprise if it were to happen!

Astrid was never a first name contender (neither was Eve) but Beatrix was our 3rd choice, I really love it and it's became a choice between Eve and Beatrix for this middle name. We are leaning towards Eve at the mo. I can definitely see how your friend would regret it having had another and used her other favourite as a middle name already!

Icklebear I love Freya but it doesn't go well with our surname, otherwise it would be a definite contender.
